Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly developed a bizarre fascination with Barack Obama years before the fallen music mogul’s federal trial sent him to prison.
Sources claim Combs admired the former president so intensely that he began copying Obama’s style, mannerisms and polished public image.
But the alleged fixation may have gone much further.
Combs’ former personal assistant, David James, testified in court last year about ecstasy pills allegedly shaped like Obama’s face. According to an insider, that was only one part of Combs’ unusual interest in the former president.
“Diddy always looked up to Barack,” the source claimed. “He would have liked to hang out with him and party with him.”
People in Combs’ circle allegedly noticed him studying Obama closely and attempting to recreate his confident, presidential image.
“Everyone around him noticed how he would model himself after Barack, copying his style and mannerisms,” the insider said.
Combs reportedly became especially excited after meeting Obama in person.
According to the source, Combs talked about Obama’s appearance, presence and even how he smelled.
“On one occasion that Diddy met Barack, he thought he smelled nice and raved about him being this handsome, statuesque power figure,” the insider claimed. “He was delusional to believe they had lots in common.”
The source said Combs apparently viewed Obama as a sophisticated and powerful man worth imitating. However, those around him allegedly found the behavior unsettling.
“He didn’t realize how freaky he was being by doing it,” the insider said.
Any friendship Combs imagined with the former first family reportedly never became a reality.
The insider claimed Barack and Michelle Obama now want absolutely nothing to do with the disgraced rapper, particularly following the disturbing accusations and highly publicized criminal case against him.
“To them, he’s a depraved monster,” the source alleged.
Combs was federally charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and prostitution-related offenses following an investigation into his alleged private parties.
A jury acquitted him of the trafficking and racketeering charges. However, he was convicted on two counts involving transportation for the purpose of prostitution.
Combs was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison and is currently serving his sentence at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey.
Combs’ projected release date has reportedly been moved forward several times, although the reasons behind the changes remain unclear.
He is currently scheduled to be released on January 24, 2028.
Despite his conviction, sources claim Combs continues to hope President Donald Trump will grant him a full presidential pardon.
“Diddy thinks Trump respects fighters,” another insider claimed. “As long as Trump is in the White House, he believes there’s still a chance.”
Trump has given no public indication that he plans to pardon Combs.
Even a presidential pardon would not end the rapper’s legal problems.
Combs is still facing dozens of civil lawsuits containing allegations of drugging, sexual misconduct, sexual assault and battery. He has denied all wrongdoing.
“Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone,” his spokesperson said after one lawsuit accused the rapper of sexually abusing a minor.
“These allegations will be disproven like all of the rest. He is going to pursue all avenues he can to defend himself and make sure those who start and spread lies are held responsible.”
