Hollywood and the voice acting world are mourning the heartbreaking loss of legendary performer Tom Kane, who has died at the age of 64 following complications from a devastating stroke he suffered in 2020.

Kane’s representative, Zach McGinnis, confirmed the sad news to TMZ on Monday, remembering the beloved actor not just for his unforgettable voice work, but for the loving family life he built behind the scenes.

“Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever,” McGinnis said.

The Kansas City-born star became a household name for millions of fans after voicing legendary Jedi Master Yoda in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the hit animated TV spin-off. His instantly recognizable voice also powered characters in the wildly popular Call of Duty series and fan-favorite roles in The Powerpuff Girls, where he played Professor Utonium and the sinister HIM.

Beyond television and video games, Kane’s voice became part of the Disney experience itself, as he recorded announcements heard on rides throughout Disney’s theme parks.

Fans were left devastated after Kane suffered a life-altering stroke in 2020 that forced him into retirement and dramatically impacted his speech abilities. Tributes quickly poured in online from longtime fans who grew up hearing his iconic performances across cartoons, movies, and games.

But friends say Kane’s proudest role was being a husband and father. According to his representative, he and his wife, Cindy, built a large loving family together, raising nine children — including six welcomed through adoption and foster care.

Kane is survived by Cindy and their children.
