Donald Trump’s long-simmering tension with Prince Harry just exploded into full-blown public drama — and this time, it’s tied to the global stage.
The 79-year-old president didn’t hold back after the U.S.-based royal urged America to step up its role in the Ukraine war. Speaking at the Kyiv Security Forum during a surprise visit, Harry called for “American leadership” and stressed that the U.S. must honor its NATO commitments — a message widely seen as a subtle jab at Donald Trump.
Trump’s response? Pure fire.
“I know one thing — Prince Harry is not speaking for the U.K., that’s for sure,” Trump told reporters. “I think I am speaking for the U.K. more than Prince Harry.”
He didn’t stop there.
Mocking the duke’s remarks, Trump added a sarcastic thank you for the “great advice,” making it clear he wasn’t taking direction from the royal anytime soon. Then came the jab that instantly set social media buzzing — a swipe aimed straight at Meghan Markle.
“How’s he doing? How’s his wife? Please give her my regards,” Trump said, reigniting his long-running criticism of Meghan, whom he has previously labeled “terrible.”
The clash comes at a sensitive moment, as tensions over Ukraine and NATO continue to dominate global headlines. While Harry avoided naming Trump directly in his speech, his call for stronger U.S. leadership landed just as Trump has floated scaling back America’s role in the alliance.
Meanwhile, the royal family is stepping into the spotlight in a different way.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla are set to arrive in the U.S. for a high-profile state visit — one that could test the already delicate relationship between Washington and London.
Trump, for his part, struck a warmer tone when it came to the king.
“He’s a friend of mine,” the president said, adding he’s looking forward to hosting Charles and a star-studded crowd at the White House. He even teased plans for a massive event, saying the turnout could exceed the current venue’s capacity.
Still, behind the diplomatic smiles, the feud with Harry is only getting louder — turning a geopolitical debate into a very personal war of words.
