Suffolk County detectives are investigating a deadly stabbing that claimed the life of a young CVS employee on Christmas night in Lindenhurst, New York.

Police say officers responded to a 911 call around 7 p.m. Thursday at a CVS located at 20 East Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst. When first responders arrived, they found 23-year-old Edeedson Cine suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

Cine, a resident of West Babylon who worked at the store, was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to investigators, the suspect is a man believed to be in his 40s who fled the scene on foot after the stabbing. Authorities have not yet determined whether Cine and the suspect knew each other or if the violence stemmed from a dispute inside the store.

On Friday, detectives with the Suffolk County Police Department canvassed the surrounding area for evidence. Officers were seen searching sewer grates and nearby locations in hopes of recovering the weapon or uncovering additional clues.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not announced any arrests. Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to contact Suffolk County authorities.
