Donald Glover just opened up about some serious health scares that nearly changed his life forever.
While performing at Tyler, the Creator’s music festival in Louisiana, the 42-year-old actor and musician — known to fans as Childish Gambino — told the crowd that he suffered a stroke during one of his shows last year.
“I felt really bad pain in my head, but I finished the show anyway,” Glover said in a clip that’s now going viral. “Turns out, I had a stroke.”
He even joked about the eerie coincidence, adding, “The first thing I thought was, ‘Oh, here I am still copying Jamie Foxx,’” referencing Foxx’s 2023 stroke that shocked Hollywood.
But that wasn’t the end of Glover’s medical rollercoaster. When he later went to the hospital for a broken foot, doctors discovered something else: a hole in his heart.
“They say everybody has two lives, and the second one starts when you realize you have one,” Glover reflected to the audience, clearly emotional as he spoke about surviving both scares.
Back in September 2024, Glover postponed and then canceled his “New World Tour,” explaining that his “path to recovery” needed to be taken seriously.
Fans flooded social media with support and relief that the “This Is America” star is still on the mend — and grateful that he’s choosing his health first.
