Fans of The Dukes of Hazzard are worried as beloved actress Catherine Bach, 71, has been hospitalized in Los Angeles on an emergency basis. News of her condition was shared on October 30 by her former co-star Ben Jones via Facebook.

Jones explained that Bach was admitted due to an embolism, likely linked to a recent surgery. He wrote, “Catherine has an embolism that probably developed as a result of a recent surgery. We will keep you posted, and Catherine will share her story as soon as she is recovered. She is so, so sorry to have to cancel her appearance at Cooter’s this weekend. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Love, Ben and Miss Alma.”

An embolism is a serious medical condition caused by a blockage in a blood vessel, which can prevent blood from flowing to vital organs or tissues. The Cleveland Clinic notes that the severity and location of the embolism play a key role in a person’s prognosis.

Bach had been scheduled to make appearances at Cooter’s Place in Nashville on November 1 and 2. The iconic venue, owned by Jones, was set to host meet-and-greets with fans. Instagram posts promoting the event had excited fans, but now the appearances are canceled out of caution for her health.

There’s a silver lining: Bach has reportedly been in contact with her former co-star John Schneider, who shared that she assured him she will be fine. While she remains in the hospital, fans can take comfort in knowing she is receiving care and surrounded by support.

Catherine Bach remains an enduring icon for her role as Daisy Duke, and fans everywhere are sending their thoughts and prayers for a full and speedy recovery.
