Rock icon Gene Simmons is recovering at home after a frightening car accident on California’s Pacific Coast Highway that sent him to the hospital earlier this week.

The 76-year-old KISS legend was reportedly driving his Lincoln Navigator through Malibu on Tuesday, October 7, when he suddenly lost consciousness and crashed into a parked vehicle, witnesses told local news outlets.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene after bystanders called 911. Simmons was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors performed tests and kept him under observation before releasing him later that day.

The rock star later broke his silence, leaving a voicemail for NBC4 Los Angeles saying he was “doing fine” and recovering comfortably at home.

According to reports, the “Rock and Roll All Nite” frontman told first responders he believed he fainted while behind the wheel, causing the midday collision. Thankfully, no one else was injured in the incident.

Simmons has yet to comment publicly on what caused him to lose consciousness, but fans flooded social media with messages of support for the larger-than-life rocker, who’s known for his elaborate stage persona and decades-long career with KISS.

The band, which wrapped its final world tour last year, has continued to make headlines as Simmons and bandmate Paul Stanley explore post-retirement ventures, including business deals and rumored TV projects.
