King Charles has sparked fresh speculation about a possible royal reunion after cutting his Scottish vacation short to jet back to London — right as Prince Harry makes a rare return to the U.K.
According to insiders, the 76-year-old monarch is expected in the capital this week while Harry, 40, continues a string of high-profile engagements. If the two do meet, it would mark their first face-to-face encounter in 19 months.
Earlier this year, Harry admitted he was “open to reconciliation” with his family, despite years of explosive fallout. At Monday night’s WellChild Awards in London, the Duke of Sussex looked relaxed as he joked with children and even poked fun at sibling relationships — a subtle nod to his ongoing rift with Prince William.
“Does he drive you mad?” Harry asked one teen about his brother, before adding with a smile, “You know what — siblings.”
But behind the laughter, tensions still run deep. Since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, Harry has publicly criticized the family in his bombshell memoir Spare, a six-part Netflix series, and a headline-grabbing Oprah interview.
Despite being just eight miles apart on Monday, Harry and William avoided each other entirely. While Harry quietly laid a wreath at his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s resting place in Windsor, William and Kate attended an event in Sunningdale to honor the late monarch.
William reflected on the third anniversary of the Queen’s passing, telling attendees, “I can’t quite believe it has been three years already.”
Harry hasn’t seen his father since a brief 30-minute visit to Clarence House last February, following King Charles’ cancer announcement. His current four-day stay marks his longest trip to the U.K. since the Queen’s death.
Whether this homecoming finally leads to a thaw in relations remains to be seen — but royal watchers are already buzzing. Will this be the long-awaited moment when father and son finally put years of bitterness behind them?
