Authorities have located a Texas woman who vanished months ago — but the shocking twist is where she’s been hiding.

Thirty-four-year-old Kaura Taylor, reported missing by her family in Texas, has been found living deep in the Scottish woodlands with a self-proclaimed “lost African tribe” that claims to be reclaiming land taken from their ancestors 400 years ago.

The group, calling itself the Kingdom of Kubala, is led by King Atehene, 36, a former opera singer born Kofi Offeh, who now wears a crown of pinecones and feathers. His queen, Nandi, and their so-called “handmaiden,” Lady Safi — later revealed to be Taylor — live off-grid in tents near Jedburgh, Scotland.

Taylor, who disappeared from Texas without a trace, appeared in a defiant video from the woodland encampment.

“To the UK authorities, obviously I am not missing,” she said. “Leave me alone. I’m an adult, not a helpless child.”

The Kingdom of Kubala claims they “do not recognize local laws” and instead follow “the laws of the creator, Yahowah.” Despite facing eviction notices and even an arson attack on their camp, King Atehene insists they will never leave.

“All we know is that we are here to stay and establish our authority and power, just like our ancestors did,” he said. “The earth belongs to the Father. No one owns the land.”

Atehene also claims to be a direct descendant of King David, describing their return as a “prophetic pilgrimage” to restore a sacred Hebrew kingdom he calls Kubala.

Queen Nandi, 43, who was born Jean Gasho, took to social media to make even bolder claims.

“We are the Lost Tribes of Hebrews and have returned to claim Scotland as our homeland,” she wrote. “Jacobites were black, from their ancestor Jacob, Yacobho. According to our Prophet Atehene, Jerusalem is in Scotland, and he is the seed and offspring of David, the Messiah. The Second Exodus has begun.”

The group believes their ancestors — whom they claim were native black Jacobites — were expelled from Scotland by Queen Elizabeth I in the 1600s. Their mission, they say, is to fulfill a 400-year-old prophecy and reunite “lost tribes” under their rule.

Locals have been left baffled. Witnesses report seeing the group bathing in nearby streams, sweeping out red tents, and presenting Scottish soda Irn-Bru and shortbread to their self-proclaimed king and queen.

“We live a simple life of returning to innocence,” Atehene explained. “We connect with nature. We get grounded every morning. We live in a tent without walls, but we are not afraid, for we have the protection of Yahowah.”

Scottish authorities have confirmed they are monitoring the situation closely.

“We’ve been working with Police Scotland to provide advice on housing options and other support,” a spokesperson for the Scottish Borders Council said.

But the Kingdom of Kubala insists they aren’t going anywhere.

“The prophecy has begun,” Atehene declared. “This is our land. No one can destroy the Kingdom of Kubala.”
