Anson Williams, the 75-year-old Happy Days star beloved for his role as Potsie Weber, is recovering after undergoing hernia surgery on Aug. 12.

The actor shared the news — and a candid post-surgery update — with fans on Facebook the next day, revealing that while the procedure was painful, he’s in good hands and staying positive. “Well, yesterday was painful. I was medicated which was nice. I was having some interesting dreams as you can see,” Williams wrote alongside a playful photo with longtime friend and co-star Don Most. “Tomorrow will be better but no housekeeping for a few days. Seriously though, my doctor and the team at the hospital are the best. The staff at Providence Hospital, I am so thankful for them. Dr. Faires… I am just very lucky.”

Fans quickly flooded the comments with get-well wishes, offering words of encouragement and sharing their own experiences with hernia surgery.

Williams didn’t share how long his recovery is expected to take, but his post made clear he’s taking it easy and following doctors’ orders in the days ahead. For now, he says he’s grateful for expert medical care — and for the support of friends, family, and fans as he heals.
