Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have once again become punchlines—this time in yet another savage episode of Family Guy, the long-running animated show known for sparing no one. The royal defectors were the target of brutal mockery in the July 17 episode titled “Twain’s World,” further cementing their fall from grace in the American pop culture landscape.

The jab comes just two years after the couple was first skewered by the series. This time, Family Guy takes it a step further, placing them in the same sentence as Adolf Hitler and the Crusades.

“You always say that, but doesn’t history pretty much suck?” says the wisecracking dog Brian as he argues with Stewie about time travel. The punchline lands hard when Stewie rattles off the horrors of history: “Hitler, the Crusades… Prince Harry marrying Meghan Markle.”

The show then cuts to an animated Prince Harry, arms folded in frustration as he watches the episode. “Again?” he mutters, before sneering into the camera: “Oh, like all of your wives are so much better?”

The insult wasn’t subtle—and neither was the message. For many Americans, the couple’s endless attention-seeking is becoming exhausting.

“Let’s face it,” said British pop culture writer Tessa Green. “They left the royal family claiming they wanted privacy, and then signed with Netflix, Spotify, and every brand under the sun. At some point, you stop being sympathetic and start seeing them as opportunists.”

The Sussexes were previously roasted by Family Guy in a 2023 episode where Harry and Meghan are shown lounging poolside while a butler delivers a mysterious Netflix payout. “Sir, your millions from Netflix for… no one knows what,” the butler announces. Harry waves him off. Meghan, meanwhile, is busy cashing in on a $250,000 sponsored Instagram post—for Del Taco.

“I shouldn’t have left the made-up nonsense,” cartoon Harry sighs.

Critics say that’s the irony: the couple fled the so-called nonsense of royal life, only to invent their own Hollywood version—complete with staged paparazzi shots, branded content, and a parade of victimhood narratives.

It’s not just Family Guy taking aim. In 2023, South Park delivered its own brutal takedown with the episode “The Worldwide Privacy Tour.” The animated royals—thinly veiled as Canadian stand-ins—crisscrossed the globe demanding privacy while constantly chasing media attention. Harry’s memoir Spare even got a parody makeover: WAAGH.

At one point, South Park’s Kyle Broflovski groans, “I’m sick of hearing about them! But I can’t get away from them. They’re everywhere!” The episode captured what many in America now feel: royal fatigue.

In the South Park episode, a fictional branding agency tells the royal couple that “victim” is a key part of their identity. It’s a brutal line—but one that hits close to home. Since relocating to California, Harry and Meghan have rebranded themselves as underdogs, victims of palace politics and media oppression, even as they cash in on their fame.

A source told The Spectator that Markle was “upset and overwhelmed” by the South Park episode but refuses to watch it. The couple’s refusal to publicly comment on either show hasn’t stopped the mockery—or the memes.

Even in the U.S., where they once found an eager audience, Americans are growing weary.

“Hollywood gave them a shot, but what have they done with it?” asked former royal correspondent Emily Nash. “One failed Spotify deal, a Netflix docu-series that fizzled, and constant complaints. The public is catching on.”

Representatives for Seth MacFarlane and the Sussexes didn’t return requests for comment.

But if Family Guy is any indication, Harry and Meghan may want to brace themselves—because America is starting to laugh at them, not with them.
