Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back in the headlines—and not in the way they’d hoped.
According to royal insiders, the couple is “frustrated” after details of a private London meeting between their top communications aide and King Charles’ chief staffer were mysteriously leaked and caught on camera. The surprise meetup, rumored to be an early attempt at peace talks between father and son, has sparked a flurry of speculation about whether the royals are finally trying to reconcile.
But Harry and Meghan say they had nothing to do with the leak.
Photos of the meeting showed Harry’s rep, Meredith Maines, and Charles’ trusted aide Tobyn Andreae casually chatting over drinks in the city. While the optics looked friendly, the Sussexes were reportedly left annoyed that the highly sensitive moment had gone public before they were ready to share anything.
“No one from Harry and Meghan’s team leaked the images,” a source close to the pair insisted. “But they know this wasn’t the ideal way to start building bridges.”
Still, not everyone in the royal sphere saw the leak as a disaster. One insider close to King Charles called the quiet summit a “significant moment” in the long, rocky relationship between the monarch and his youngest son.
“The King has always shown he loves both his sons,” the source shared. “If this is the beginning of a period of calm and reflection, there’s hope for healing.”
The impromptu meeting didn’t involve any formal agenda—just drinks and an open channel of communication, reportedly the first in years. But there’s one big question still hanging in the air: Did Prince William know this was happening?
Multiple sources say the Prince of Wales was kept in the dark about the whole thing. And when it comes to Harry and William? That relationship is said to be “a much tougher fix,” with one royal expert calling it a “different matter entirely.”
What’s more, King Charles made no effort to hide where his loyalty currently lies. Just one day after the covert meeting, Charles held a grand State Banquet at Windsor Castle in honor of French President Emmanuel Macron—and snubbed Harry in his toast.
While gushing about the royal residence, Charles made a point to highlight his heir, Prince William, calling it “appropriate” that “my son, The Prince of Wales, who shares [William the Conqueror’s] name, has made Windsor his home.” Not a single mention of Harry.
The diss didn’t go unnoticed—especially considering Harry was reportedly in the UK at the time.
Since stepping down as senior royals in 2020 and relocating to California, Harry and Meghan have had a rocky relationship with the monarchy. While this surprise meeting hints at a possible thaw, the path forward is still uncertain—and very, very public.

I admire the King for how he is handling his diagnosis and treatment . It may be difficult but i hope he doesn’t allow Harry and Megan to be included in anything that has to do with dealing with a reunion of any kind . Neither of them deserve any consideration as they will use it to continue to gain attention only for themselves.
