Pop singer Lulu Simon is fuming after discovering that actor Richard Gere sold off her childhood home to developers—despite allegedly promising to preserve the historic estate.
The 30-year-old daughter of music legend Paul Simon went scorched earth on Instagram this week, posting a furious all-caps story that began: “Just in case anyone was wondering if I still hate Richard Gere—I do!”
According to Lulu, the 32-acre Connecticut property she grew up on is now slated to be torn apart and subdivided into nine separate lots. “He bought my childhood home, promised he would take care of the land… proceeded to never actually move in & just sold it to a developer,” she wrote alongside a selfie. “Hate him!”
Lulu didn’t stop there. She shared a photo of a young Gere surrounded by animals and cursed him with a chilling message: “I hope my dead pets buried in that back yard haunt you until you descend into a slow and unrelenting madness.”

The drama began in 2022 when Gere purchased the sprawling estate from Paul Simon, reportedly agreeing to preserve its 1930s charm. But by late 2024, Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva, flipped the property to SBP Homes for $10.75 million—at a slight loss—just before announcing a move to Spain.
The estate, previously praised for its English country style, boasted six bedrooms, woodland trails, a pond, and a waterfall. Now, SBP plans to offer buyers empty parcels to build brand-new homes from scratch.
Neither Gere nor his team has responded to the backlash. But if Lulu has her way, he may be contending with some ghostly visitors—and one very public grudge.
