Meghan Markle is facing a new kind of royal crisis — but this time, it’s personal.

RadarOnline.com has learned that Doria Ragland, the Duchess of Sussex’s once rock-solid support system, quietly packed her bags and walked out of the Sussexes’ Montecito estate after nearly 18 months of living under the same roof.

And according to sources close to the family, it wasn’t exactly a warm goodbye.

“Don’t leave me!” Meghan reportedly sobbed as her 68-year-old mother exited the luxury compound. But it was too late — even Doria had reached her breaking point.

‘Sick of the Drama’

“Doria was being used as a live-in nanny and therapist,” one insider said. “She came to help during a difficult time, but Meghan’s constant complaining, emotional outbursts, and never-ending career stress wore her down.”

The source added: “She loves her daughter, but she also has her own life. And enough was enough.”

Ragland, a Los Angeles-based yoga instructor and social worker, had originally moved into the guesthouse on Meghan and Prince Harry’s $29 million property in early 2024 to help the family cope with a turbulent period — one marked by career failures and deepening tensions with both Hollywood and the royal family.

At the time, the Sussexes were still recovering from the backlash of their 2022 Netflix docuseries and the public collapse of Meghan’s $20 million Spotify deal. The cancellation of her animated project Pearl further darkened their professional outlook.

“They were in crisis,” a Hollywood PR expert told us. “And Meghan, in particular, was spinning. Doria’s presence gave her something to cling to.”

A Family Fractured

While Doria was initially happy to help raise Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, friends say the setup soon began to feel less like family bonding and more like unpaid labor.

“She was basically running the household while Meghan sulked and Harry moped around,” another insider claimed. “Even Harry leaned on her emotionally — he sees Doria as the only stable mother figure he has left.”

But stability wasn’t enough to keep her there.

“She’s been a calming force, but even calm people have limits,” said the source.

Doria has since returned to her modest home in LA’s View Park-Windsor Hills neighborhood and is reportedly focusing on her own wellness and friendships. She still plans to visit her grandchildren but has no intention of living with Meghan and Harry again.

Meghan and Harry: Isolated and Under Pressure

The timing couldn’t be worse for the Sussexes. Their PR team has seen a string of departures in recent months, including top aides in both the U.S. and U.K. One high-level publicist reportedly quit after clashing with Meghan over her “unrealistic” image goals.

“They’re burning through staff and alienating former friends,” said a former associate. “It’s starting to look like nobody wants to stick around.”

The Sussexes have also grown estranged from former close allies — including Victoria and David Beckham, after rumors of leaked stories — and have been noticeably absent from A-list events in 2025. Even longtime friend Priyanka Chopra is said to have “stepped back.”

As for Meghan, some royal watchers believe Doria’s departure may serve as a personal wake-up call.

“When your own mother moves out of your 16-bathroom mansion because she can’t take your behavior,” said one royal expert, “maybe it’s time to look in the mirror.”
