In what critics are calling a calculated political cover-up, Democrat Rebecca Bennett—vying for a seat in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District—has quietly erased years of progressive cheerleading from her social media accounts as she campaigns in a pro-Trump district.
Bennett, a Navy veteran and current member of the Air National Guard, has pitched herself as a centrist. But digital footprints tell a different story—one filled with praise for far-left Democrats, anti-police rhetoric, and even support for President Trump’s impeachment.
“Rebecca Bennett is trying to run from her past because she knows her real beliefs are too extreme for New Jersey voters,” said Maureen O’Toole, spokeswoman for the National Republican Congressional Committee. “She’s a radical scam artist in moderate’s clothing.”
Wiping the Slate—But Not Fast Enough
An in-depth review of Bennett’s social media activity reveals a pattern of now-deleted posts applauding controversial Democrats like Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Sen. Cory Booker.
“Love her,” Bennett tweeted in 2019 about Warren—one of the Senate’s most progressive figures. Another post, deleted just this year, featured a mashup of Warren and Taylor Swift with Bennett gushing, “I love everything about this.”
Bennett also expressed excitement when Harris was tapped as Joe Biden’s running mate in 2020, writing, “Let’s Goooooo!”—a sentiment that hasn’t aged well in New Jersey’s 7th, where Trump beat Biden and Harris by a narrow margin.
“I find it offensive that someone would pretend to be a moderate while hiding a record that clearly supports radicals like Warren and Harris,” said Karen Doyle, a small business owner in Hunterdon County. “It’s dishonest and manipulative.”
Anti-Trump, Pro-Impeachment, and Soft on Rioters?
One deleted post shows Bennett cheering on Rep. Jason Crow during Trump’s first impeachment trial. “I’m a vet who also didn’t have the equipment I needed to do my job, so this is personal for me too,” she wrote in 2020. “#ImpeachmentTrial.”
Other posts reveal sympathy for far-left critiques of law enforcement during the George Floyd riots. She echoed former Obama strategist David Plouffe’s call for Congress to investigate police—not rioters.
“Her real views were never meant for voters in this district,” said Bill Jenkins, a local retired police officer. “Supporting the impeachment of Trump and criticizing law enforcement while riots were destroying cities? That’s not moderate. That’s dangerous.”
Silence on Her Party, Silence on the Past
Oddly, Bennett’s campaign launch video—nearly two minutes long—doesn’t even mention that she’s a Democrat.
“She knows the ‘D’ next to her name is a liability here,” said one GOP strategist. “She’s hiding it, just like she’s hiding her radical past.”
When pressed by Fox News Digital about why the posts were deleted, Bennett’s campaign dodged the question. Instead, senior advisor Dan Bryan accused Republicans of being “scared” of her candidacy.
“It’s no surprise to see the NRCC and conservative news outlets start attacking Rebecca,” Bryan said. “She’s a threat to flip NJ-7.”
A Pattern of Deception Among NJ Democrats
Bennett isn’t the first Democrat in the Garden State to get caught cleaning house online. Sue Altman, who lost to Rep. Thomas Kean Jr. in 2024, also faced backlash after deleting posts that were critical of police.
Republicans say it’s no coincidence.
“These Democrats know their true views won’t fly in red-leaning districts, so they scrub their history and try to fool voters,” O’Toole added. “But voters won’t be fooled again.”
High Stakes in a Razor-Thin House
The race for New Jersey’s 7th is shaping up to be one of the most competitive contests of 2026. With Republicans clinging to a slim majority—220 to 215—every seat matters.
“This race isn’t just about one district,” said GOP Rep. Jim Banks. “It’s about the future direction of our country. And voters deserve to know the truth about who’s asking for their vote.”
Bottom line: Rebecca Bennett might be deleting posts, but she can’t delete the truth.

This lady sounds like a normal moderate Democrat and I don’t see anything “dangerously radical” about her . The things she supports are GOOD for America . The Republicans mindlessly worship Trump, the worst, most corrupt and incompetent president in world history .
He is a deranged idiot , a megalomaniacal lunatic , a malignant narcissistic sociopath , a pathological liar , a total fraud and phony , a dementia-addled empty shell of a man , and no more fit to be president than a retarded person is qualified to teach nuclear physics at Harvard or MIT .
He MUST be stopped before he turns the USA into his own private totalitarian fascist state ! The future of America and the entire world are in jeopardy because of this unspeakably vile, evil man !
