Barack Obama is back — and he’s furious.
Speaking at a Thursday event at Hamilton College, the former president delivered a blistering critique of President Donald Trump’s second term, throwing rhetorical punches at the administration’s bold America First agenda.
Obama, who has largely stayed quiet since President Trump’s landslide victory over Kamala Harris in 2024, is now re-entering the political spotlight. And judging by his speech, he’s still struggling to come to terms with Trump’s enduring popularity.
“It’s unimaginable,” Obama said, shaking his head. “Imagine if I had done any of this.”
He was referring to Trump’s recent executive actions, which include cracking down on illegal immigration, imposing new tariffs on China, and confronting what he calls “media propaganda.” But to Obama, these actions signal an assault on institutions — even though many Americans see them as long-overdue corrections.
One of the former president’s sharpest critiques came when he addressed Trump’s decision to revoke Associated Press credentials after the outlet refused to refer to the “Gulf of Mexico” as the “Gulf of America” — a symbolic rebranding effort meant to assert U.S. sovereignty.
“Imagine I had pulled Fox News credentials,” Obama said. “There would have been outrage.”
Yet to many Americans, the real outrage was how the media treated Trump during his first term. Networks like CNN, MSNBC, and yes — the AP — spent four years hammering him with Russian collusion hoaxes and impeachment theater, only to see Trump roar back into power with the support of red-state America.
Obama also accused the Trump administration of intimidating law firms and threatening universities over student protests — remarks that drew scattered applause from the mostly liberal audience.
“You can’t say to a law firm, ‘If you represent people we don’t like, you’re barred,’” Obama said.
But critics were quick to note the irony. Obama’s own administration weaponized the IRS against conservative non-profits, spied on journalists, and pushed policies that punished religious organizations over healthcare mandates.
This isn’t Obama’s first swipe at Trump. Just before the 2024 election, he campaigned in Atlanta and labeled Trump a “wannabe king.”
“There is absolutely no evidence that this man thinks about anybody but himself,” Obama declared.
Yet the evidence seems to suggest otherwise: under Trump’s renewed leadership, the border is finally being enforced, jobs are returning, and America’s enemies are being put on notice. According to a recent Rasmussen poll, over 61% of Republicans believe the country is on the right track — a stark reversal from the Biden-Harris years.
Some insiders believe Obama’s sudden reappearance is more about protecting his legacy than warning the country. With Trump reversing several Obama-era policies — from the Iran Deal to DEI hiring mandates — the former president has every reason to be concerned.
But in red states across the country, voters aren’t buying the hand-wringing.
“We gave Trump a second term because he earned it,” said Jenna Morales, a small business owner in Georgia. “Obama had his time. Now it’s ours.”
Barack Obama is sounding the alarm. But for tens of millions of Americans, it’s the sound of a man watching his legacy get rolled back — by a president they chose to finish the job he started.

Obama’s perception of “evidence” is a perfunctory dismissal of any facts contrary to his destructive leftist narrative. He risibly reclaimed that his administration was “free from any shred of scandal” despite the scandal ridden reality of his anti-American, anti-Constitution, and anti-Christian policies, not to mention the crony exploitation of government spending on social engineering schemes. One of the very worst presidents of American history, and a man of weak character dares to criticize a president who has, despite his own flaws, worked tirelessly to benefit the American people with peace, security, and prosperity. But, then, what else should we expect from someone with a phony, manufactured past.
Obama is just pissed that Trump is fundamentally changing the USA back to its place of power in the world that he worked so hard to destroy!
