It seems Meghan Markle’s latest attempt at relatability has backfired—again. A bizarre moment from her new Netflix series With Love, Meghan has gone viral, and this time, even The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon couldn’t resist taking a jab.

In what was presumably meant to be a touching display of thoughtfulness, Meghan was seen assembling a “care package” for her longtime friend, celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin. But instead of a homemade treat or a heartfelt letter, the Duchess of Sussex simply transferred store-bought pretzels from one bag to another—then added a custom label.

“You always want to be conscious if someone has a nut allergy,” Meghan earnestly explained, as if the original packaging didn’t already have a clear ingredient list. The moment, which some viewers called “peak Meghan,” was quickly met with a flood of online mockery.

Enter Jimmy Fallon, who turned the clip into comedic gold during his latest episode. With his sidekick Steve Higgins, Fallon playfully dissected Meghan’s logic—or lack thereof—in a mock trivia segment.

“What is the number one question that mystifies scientists?” Higgins asked.

Fallon played along. “Is there life on another planet?”

“No,” Higgins quipped. “Why does Meghan Markle make her own pretzel bags?”

“She takes it from one bag and puts it in another bag,” Fallon added. “That confuses people.”

Social media erupted with memes and reactions, with many comparing the moment to her infamous banana message stunt—when she wrote motivational quotes on bananas for charity workers in 2019.

“I’m convinced Meghan Markle is the only person who could take a bag of pretzels and somehow make it about herself,” one user on X (formerly Twitter) posted. Another quipped, “Somewhere, a personal assistant got fired for not pre-labeling the pretzels first.”

The Netflix series, which was supposed to showcase Meghan’s “authentic” and “down-to-earth” side, has so far failed to impress. While Netflix has remained tight-lipped on viewership numbers, early reviews suggest audiences are tuning in more for the unintended comedy than the supposed heartfelt moments.

For Fallon, the segment was just another opportunity to poke fun at Meghan’s constant attempts to appear relatable while living in multimillion-dollar luxury. And judging by the audience’s reaction, America isn’t buying what she’s selling—whether it’s pretzels or personality.

  3. I thought it was a great idea, who makes homemade peanut butter prezels. She just gave him something that he liked with a beautiful presentation of delightful items. I copied all of her simple recipes and they are delicious. Made the chicken, the coconut macaroons, the indian curry and the one pot spagetti. I love her shows, they are not like others and should not be. Give her a break you superior beings!
