MSNBC’s radical left-wing commentator Joy Reid is out as the network scrambles to reshape its struggling primetime lineup. Reid, known for her anti-Trump rants and divisive rhetoric, is being replaced by a new panel show as part of MSNBC’s latest desperate attempt to boost ratings.

New Leadership, New Moves

Rebecca Kutler, MSNBC’s newly appointed president, is making her mark fast. Since taking over the liberal network earlier this month, Kutler has been tasked with pulling MSNBC out of a years-long ratings slump. One of her first major moves? Axing “The ReidOut,” which has seen its audience plummet since President Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

Sources inside MSNBC told The New York Times that Reid’s 7 p.m. slot will be filled by a panel show featuring Alicia Menendez, Michael Steele, and Symone Sanders Townsend. The shake-up signals a shift in strategy as MSNBC tries to hold onto its dwindling audience while still pushing its progressive agenda.

Ratings Freefall

Reid’s downfall has been brewing for months. Since Trump’s re-election, her show has hemorrhaged viewers, with Nielsen Media Research reporting a 53% decline in MSNBC’s primetime ratings.

“It was only a matter of time,” said a former MSNBC producer who spoke on condition of anonymity. “Reid alienated so many people with her constant attacks on conservatives. Even some liberals found her over the top.”

More MSNBC Hosts on the Chopping Block

Reid isn’t the only casualty of MSNBC’s crisis. Alex Wagner, another left-wing anchor, is also losing her primetime slot. Rachel Maddow is temporarily returning to five nights a week to cover the first 100 days of Trump’s second term, but will eventually scale back to one night per week.

Meanwhile, reports suggest MSNBC has been offering its top anchors—including Reid and Stephanie Ruhle—pay cuts if they want to keep their jobs. Some insiders believe more terminations could be on the way.

MSNBC Prepares for Major Corporate Changes

Kutler’s appointment comes as MSNBC faces a corporate shakeup. Parent company Comcast is spinning off MSNBC and its fellow cable networks into a new publicly traded company. Insiders say this move forces MSNBC to rethink its strategy, especially as Fox News continues to dominate cable news ratings.

“We have to adapt,” Kutler reportedly told staff. “The media landscape is changing, and we need to be ready.”

One of Kutler’s upcoming initiatives includes establishing a new MSNBC bureau in Washington, D.C., with a new leadership team focused on talent, newsgathering, and content strategy.

Future of MSNBC

With Trump back in the White House, MSNBC is at a crossroads. The network built its brand on opposing Trump, but with their biggest boogeyman back in power, they may struggle to keep viewers engaged.

Some believe MSNBC will continue doubling down on its leftist agenda, while others argue a shift toward the center may be its only hope for survival. Regardless, with Joy Reid out and more changes coming, MSNBC’s future remains uncertain.

  1. Joy is not one of my favorites, nor Morning Joe and Stephanie Ruhle. But, I do pretty much watch MSNBC all day long, other than 7am to 1pm, when I switch to NBC. Iove Nicole, Ari, Rachel and Lawrence. The Weekend, along with Velshi, are also great.

  2. I love Morning Joe, but I’m seeing MSNBC is starting to cower towards Trump! Is it out of fear or cowardice? Time will tell! I will state that Joy told many things so many in News are today are afraid to say for fear of being let go.
Shame on those Networks who give in to Trump and his Cronies!

    1. Most people try to hide terminal ignorance. You’re an exception. Knee pads, Kamala, lost; live with it!

  3. I hate to say it but I’m beginning to see MSNBC is starting to bend to Trump. Before we know it the only news we’ll see is TRUMP News & lies! No one is willing to stand up and grow a backbone out of fear of the almighty would-be-king!
PLEASE will someone grow a backbone and stand up for Freedom of Speech? If you don’t, that too will be shut down, closed up, and fired.

  5. All you see anymore is hate speech on these news programs. And they are finally seeing why their audience is disappearing.

  6. Another reason to never watch MSNBC.  There was a time that MSNBC was my only watch channel, but they have gotten rid of all of the commentators I watched.  Sickening!!Dr. Larry Schlatter

  7. Wow!! Hard to believe NBC had the “Balls” to pull the trigger on the most lying, hypocritical, offensive, putrid, charlatan on national broadcasting. NBC should grow more sets of balls and eliminate Lawrence O’Donnell, Joe & Mika Scarborough, Rachel (the Mad Cow) Maddow, Chris Hayes and every other braindead brunett they throw on the air! Time to shake the tree and dump the entire “so called news dept!”

  8. Why? Because she is black? MSNBC tells the truth unlike Fox who caters to fascism. I loved Joy and feel let down that the new head is leaning towards supporting Trump, the bully. What happened to freedom of speech. What, Trump is threatening to sue MSNBC? Stand up to that creep and his violent racism
