A shocking hit-and-run in Baltimore has left residents outraged after an Amazon delivery driver ran over a woman in a crosswalk—not once, but twice—before fleeing the scene.

The horrifying moment was caught on surveillance cameras, leaving many questioning corporate accountability and road safety.

Caught on Camera: A Terrifying Incident

The incident, which took place around 9:30 p.m. in the Butchers Hill neighborhood, was captured on both Ring doorbell footage and intersection surveillance cameras. The video shows the woman crossing the street when the Amazon delivery truck speeds forward, hitting her with the front wheels.

Despite her agonizing screams, the driver hesitates only briefly before continuing forward, rolling over her again with the rear wheels. Disturbingly, he then exits the vehicle, stands over the injured woman, and after a few moments, gets back in his truck and drives away without offering assistance.

“It was so unreal, it almost seemed fake,” said local resident Josh Webster, who reviewed the footage. “I mean, how do you run someone over twice and just drive off? That’s a conscious decision.”

Outrage in the Community

Neighbors who witnessed the hit-and-run are calling for accountability, especially considering the sheer negligence on display.

“He had to know something was wrong,” Webster continued. “You drive a truck all day, you know the difference between a pothole and a person.”

Other drivers at the intersection witnessed the shocking act, though none immediately pursued the Amazon vehicle. The woman, left writhing in pain on the pavement, was quickly assisted by first responders and transported to a local hospital. Fortunately, doctors reported that her injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening.

Amazon Responds—But Is It Enough?

Following public outcry, an Amazon spokesperson issued a statement: “The driver in question has been suspended from delivering on our behalf, and we are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation.”

However, critics argue that this response is too little, too late. This is not the first time an Amazon driver has been involved in such an incident. Just three months ago, an elderly woman was tragically killed in Georgia after an Amazon driver struck her as she crossed a highway after visiting a loved one’s grave.

Law Enforcement Searching for Suspect

Baltimore police are actively searching for the driver, but so far, they have not released a vehicle or tag number.

“We’re doing everything possible to track this individual down,” said a spokesperson for the Baltimore Police Department. “There’s no excuse for leaving the scene of an accident, especially one as serious as this.”

Local residents are demanding stricter regulations on delivery drivers, citing Amazon’s growing history of driver-related accidents. Some believe the company should be held financially and legally responsible for the reckless actions of those it contracts.

“They should definitely be held accountable,” Webster added. “This woman could have died. What kind of company allows this to happen over and over again?”

As police continue their search, the victim’s family is asking for prayers and support. Meanwhile, the debate over corporate responsibility in the gig economy is heating up, with many asking: How many more lives have to be put at risk before real change happens?

  1. Why would amazon have an animal working for them because that is what he is. For me he would be in the unemployment line.
