Bruce Willis, the legendary action star beloved by millions, is facing one of the toughest battles of his life.

Diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia nearly three years ago, the Hollywood icon’s family remains his unwavering pillar of strength. Rumer Willis, his eldest daughter with ex-wife Demi Moore, recently opened up about how the family is navigating this challenging journey together.

In a candid interview on the British talk show Loose Women, Rumer shared an uplifting update on her father’s condition and the unwavering bond within their family.

“He’s doing great,” she said, emphasizing the power of familial love. “Because my family, we’re all so close, I think what’s so beautiful is the way that we rally around each other. We really are a unit.”

This steadfast support has been crucial, especially amid external challenges. She mentioned the devastating California wildfires, which have been a looming concern for many. “Like everyone else in California, the fires have been terrifying. It just makes you appreciate your loved ones even more,” she reflected.

Willis, 69, stepped away from acting in 2022 following an aphasia diagnosis, which later progressed to frontotemporal dementia. Known for his iconic roles in Die Hard, The Sixth Sense, and Pulp Fiction, his sudden departure from Hollywood was met with an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues alike.

“Bruce has always been a fighter,” said a longtime friend and Die Hard co-star, speaking anonymously. “He’s faced challenges before, but this time, it’s his family that’s carrying the torch for him.”

Willis shares three daughters—Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah—with Moore, whom he divorced in 2000. In 2009, he married model Emma Heming Willis, and together they have two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn. Despite the changes over the years, the family remains united.

“Even when my parents split, they made sure we always felt like a family,” Rumer noted. “They never made us choose sides. That’s something I want to pass down to my daughter.”

Rumer, now a mother to 1-year-old Louetta, has found herself reflecting on the lessons she learned from her parents.

“Honestly, everything about being a mom is rewarding. She’s my best friend. Even when I’m away for just an hour, I miss her,” she said in a previous interview with Fox News Digital.

Despite the struggles of new motherhood—including the exhaustion—Rumer remains grateful for the example her parents set. “The love and strength they showed us are what I want to give my own child,” she said.

While Bruce Willis’ battle with dementia continues, his family’s love remains the one constant. Whether through quiet moments at home or public tributes, they ensure his legacy is not just about the movies he made but the love he gave.

“We are, and always will be, a family,” Rumer affirmed.
