Prince Harry’s upcoming appearance at the Invictus Games has sparked fresh controversy. Many royal watchers and veterans are calling for the Duke of Sussex to attend solo, leaving Meghan Markle out of the spotlight. The Games, scheduled for February 8-16 in British Columbia, Canada, are at the center of heated public opinion.

An online poll conducted from January 22-24 revealed significant sentiment against Meghan’s attendance. Out of 3,638 respondents, 94% believed Meghan should skip the event. Only 5% supported her presence, with a small undecided margin.

This backlash follows a contentious Vanity Fair article accusing Meghan of fostering a toxic environment during her time as a royal. The piece alleged that some staff members required therapy after working under her. Neither Harry nor Meghan has publicly addressed these claims.

“The Invictus Games are about honoring veterans and their stories,” said retired Army Sgt. Paul Henderson. “We don’t need royal drama overshadowing that mission. Harry’s presence is enough.”

Others echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the need for the focus to remain on the athletes and their achievements. The Games, founded by Harry in 2014, have grown into a global celebration of resilience and recovery for wounded veterans.

Edward Coram-James, a public relations consultant, said the Sussex brand remains under scrutiny. “Meghan’s presence could either signal unity or become a distraction,” he explained. “When they’re together, they bring their shared controversies. The risk is overshadowing the Games.”

Coram-James also addressed the potential fallout if Meghan stays home. “Critics will speculate about their relationship. Are they drifting apart? Is their partnership in trouble? Meghan is caught in a no-win situation.”

Meghan’s involvement in past Invictus Games has been widely discussed. While she has frequently attended to support Harry, her appearances have sometimes drawn attention away from the event’s purpose. Royal commentator Angela Levin noted, “Her intention might be to support Harry, but the public often interprets it differently. It becomes about Meghan, not the veterans.”

The 2025 Invictus Games mark a significant moment for Harry. With public scrutiny at an all-time high, his decision about Meghan’s attendance could shape perceptions of both their marriage and their commitment to the Games.

For now, fans and critics alike are watching closely. As one participant in the poll put it, “This is Harry’s event. Meghan should let him shine on his own.”

6 thoughts on “Prince Harry Told Not to Bring Meghan Markle to Key Event”
  1. Prince Harry created the Games. Meghan Markle is his wife. They’re a “unit”. Why does everything have to become political? She should accompany her husband to this event that is very important to him. People need to just “back off”.

  2. Megsie cannot help herself! She absolutely HAS TO BE THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. EVERYBODY KNOWS THEY AREN’T TOGETHER. DO NOT LET HER GO

  3. No matter what, she is his Wife and should be tolerated as such. you can not invite one and not the other, then don’t invite him at all.
