“The assassination of our father remains a deeply personal tragedy,” the King family stated.
In a bold move, President Donald Trump has ordered the declassification of government files related to the assassinations of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., President John F. Kennedy, and Senator Robert F. Kennedy. The order, signed Thursday, sets a 45-day timeline for the release of the documents, though the exact date remains unclear.
This sweeping decision has ignited public curiosity and raised questions about long-standing conspiracy theories tied to these pivotal moments in American history.
The King family quickly responded, issuing a heartfelt statement expressing their personal stake in the release of these records.
“Today, our family learned that President Trump has ordered the declassification of the remaining records pertaining to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, and our father, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” the statement read.
They also made a special request: to review the documents before their public release.
“For us, the assassination of our father is a deeply personal family loss that we have endured for 56 years. We hope to be given the opportunity to review the files as a family prior to their release.”
The White House has yet to confirm if this request will be honored.
Dr. King was killed on April 4, 1968, at just 39 years old, while standing on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. Officially, James Earl Ray was convicted of the assassination, but doubts linger.
“It pains my heart that James Earl Ray had to spend his life in prison paying for things he didn’t do,” said Bernice King, Dr. King’s youngest daughter, in a 2018 interview with The Washington Post.
The King family has long suspected that the true circumstances surrounding the civil rights leader’s death have been concealed.
As he signed the executive order, Trump emphasized the importance of these revelations.
“This is a big one,” Trump declared from the Oval Office. “People have been waiting for this—some for decades. Everything will be revealed.”
The move has been well-received by Trump’s supporters, who view it as another example of his commitment to exposing government secrets.
The assassinations of King and the Kennedy brothers are among the most haunting chapters of the 1960s. They marked a period of political unrest, civil rights upheaval, and widespread mistrust in government institutions.
Revisiting these cases could reshape public understanding of American history. Many hope the declassification will provide long-awaited answers, though others fear it could stir new controversies.
As the nation awaits the release of these files, the King family’s plea adds a personal dimension to what could otherwise become a political spectacle.
Whether the documents will vindicate or complicate existing narratives remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the conversation about truth and justice in these high-profile cases is far from over.

Pleas? Pleads?
Democrats don’t want the younger generation to learn that MLK Jr. was another GREAT REPUBLICAN MAGA murdered by the evil Democrat slavers for speaking up!
I have no doubts whatsoever that opening up and digging through the details of all these reports will reveal both JFK and RFK was the CIA orchestrated by both LBJ and FBI’s J. Edgar Hoover!
Hoover hated MLK so much that LBJ may have given Hoover the “green light” to have him taken out as payment for assisting the CIA efforts with the Kennedys!
LBJ was one sick, twisted and corrupt individual!
I thought the family would be happy more clarity
