“It’s presumptuous to say that, but I think yes… based on the polling,” President Joe Biden told USA Today earlier this month, referring to whether he could have defeated Donald Trump in the 2024 election. While Biden later clarified he meant both he and Vice President Kamala Harris “could have… would have” won, the remarks have reportedly left Harris feeling disappointed and undervalued.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Harris confided in friends about her sadness over the statement, which she viewed as emblematic of “one-sided loyalty” in their political partnership. Sources close to Harris suggest the comment overshadowed her contributions and left her questioning her role in the administration’s legacy.
Tensions within the Biden-Harris dynamic have been increasingly evident. Observers noted the frosty body language between Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, during the late President Jimmy Carter’s funeral earlier this month. Critics argue this moment highlights growing dissonance as the duo prepares to leave office.
Political analyst Greg Manning remarked, “The cracks have been there for a while. Harris has stood by Biden through tough times, but these moments suggest a lack of mutual recognition.”
Throughout their tenure, Harris has remained publicly supportive of Biden, even during challenging moments like the June 2023 Democratic debate, where many urged him to step aside. She also distanced herself from some of Biden’s more controversial comments, such as labeling Trump supporters “garbage.”
One senior Democratic strategist, speaking anonymously, shared, “Harris has walked a tightrope—balancing loyalty to the President while carving out her own identity. Comments like Biden’s don’t make that easier.”
As Harris transitions out of public office for the first time in two decades, personal and professional challenges abound. Just days after overseeing the certification of her electoral loss, she canceled a planned foreign trip to address the Los Angeles wildfires. Evacuation orders in her Brentwood neighborhood added further stress to an already tumultuous period.
While some speculate her political career might be winding down, Harris reportedly has other plans. She’s considering a gubernatorial run in California in 2026 and may pursue speaking engagements and a book deal. She hasn’t ruled out another presidential campaign in 2028, signaling her determination to remain a prominent figure in American politics.
As Biden and Harris prepare to leave office, the nature of their strained relationship raises questions about the long-term legacy of their administration.
Conservative commentator Alan West noted, “For an administration already seen as fractured, this discord only reinforces why so many Americans questioned their leadership from the start.”
While the Biden-Harris chapter closes, the future remains uncertain for both leaders. Harris faces the challenge of solidifying her place in history while charting a path forward in the shifting political landscape.

Looks like KamalToe isn’t smearing as much brown shiiite on her face now pretending to be ‘black’… and her hands are still super white…
I don’t think President Biden meant to downplay the importance that Kamala Harris had as vice president. I think he highly respected her and was grateful to have her by his side.
Sorry, the app sent the first part of my comment away and I don’t think you’ll get it because I failed to do the email questionnaire!
I’ll shorten it just in case the original does come through! I agree with your thoughts on how President Biden was thinking! But, I also believe he was subconsciously self-soothing and tending to his normal male ego (not a bad thing) and licking his wounds! He like any of our true loves/knights in shinning armor would certainly rather die than be untrue to his beloved! But ego needs and deserves to play in their own imagination!
Peace!
