Celebrities Turn On Gavin Newsom as Fires Level Los Angeles

Southern California faces a grim reality as raging wildfires continue to wreak havoc, leaving destruction, displacement, and death in their wake.

With the Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, Lidia, and Kenneth fires torching nearly 300,000 acres, criticism is mounting against California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Public figures, including celebrities, are demanding accountability as the death toll rises to 10, damages soar past $150 billion, and nearly 180,000 residents flee their homes.

President-elect Donald Trump voiced his frustration on Truth Social late Wednesday.

“One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning down to the ground. It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. This is all his fault!!!” Trump posted. He accused Newsom of ignoring vital water management, alleging the governor refused to approve a “water restoration declaration” that could have redirected surplus water to fire-prone areas.

Izzy Gardon, Newsom’s director of communications, dismissed the claims: “There is no such document as the water restoration declaration; that is pure fiction. The governor remains focused on protecting lives and ensuring firefighters have the resources they need.”

Prominent figures are adding their voices to the growing discontent. Actor James Woods, who lost his home, and fitness icon Jillian Michaels, who evacuated her family, are among the many calling for changes in leadership.

“This fire is not from ‘climate change,’” Woods wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “It’s because liberal idiots like Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass prioritize everything but fire prevention.” He later told Fox News: “When you’re in charge, fire management isn’t a social justice exercise. It’s a matter of life and death.”

“Pacific Palisades ran out of water at 3 a.m. while my neighbors fled for their lives,” Michaels shared. “This is not a partisan issue. It’s pure incompetence.”

Actor Mel Gibson criticized the state’s fire prevention measures on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

“In 2019, Newsom promised to maintain the forests,” Gibson said. “Where’s that maintenance now? It’s as if our tax dollars are funding his hair gel instead.”

Rogan echoed the sentiment, claiming Newsom’s leadership has “ruined” California.

Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick questioned California’s disaster readiness. “California has 840 miles of coastline and thousands of reservoirs. Why don’t we have enough water to fight fires?” she posted. “Time for Newscum to resign.”

“Our taxes are sky-high, but fire hydrants are empty,” said actor and producer Sara Foster. “This is what happens when leaders prioritize far-left policies over safety.”

Critics argue that fire management has long been underfunded. Reports show that California has reduced controlled burns and vegetation clearing over the past decade, leaving vast areas vulnerable.

San Diego firefighter Dave Morales offered a sobering perspective. “We’ve warned the state for years about poor land management. We need leadership that listens to experts, not bureaucrats.”
