A well-known Beverly Hills physician, Dr. Babak Hajhosseini, 42, faces multiple rape charges after allegations surfaced that he drugged and sexually assaulted an employee at his home, the Los Angeles Police Department announced Monday.

Hajhosseini, the founder of the Wound & Burn Centers of America and a visiting specialist at Catalina Island Health, is accused of using his professional stature and lucrative job offers to lure potential victims.

According to police, Hajhosseini allegedly recruited women through job websites, promising high hourly wages, and then invited them to work overtime at his residence.

One employee claimed she was pressured to consume an alcoholic beverage during an after-hours meeting at his home. She reported losing consciousness shortly afterward, waking to discover she had been assaulted. Investigators say Hajhosseini recorded the alleged assault.

Hajhosseini was arrested on Nov. 26 after the employee came forward. He faces charges including rape by use of drugs and rape of an unconscious or asleep person.

The LAPD believes Hajhosseini may have targeted other women who have yet to come forward. “Though he is charged with assaulting a single victim, investigators believe there are other victims,” the department stated.

Hajhosseini, who has since posted bail, denies the charges and claims he is the target of “false and salacious accusations.”

His attorneys released a statement defending him: “Dr. Hajhosseini will try his case in court, not in the media. In the courtroom, cases are decided based on evidence—not baseless innuendo. There is extensive evidence proving that these allegations are false, which will be presented in court.”

The statement also noted that Hajhosseini voluntarily took and passed a polygraph exam, accusing the LAPD of omitting this information in their press release.

The allegations have sent shockwaves through the Beverly Hills community, where Hajhosseini was known for his medical expertise and public persona.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or additional allegations to come forward, emphasizing the importance of holding perpetrators accountable.

  1. The doctor volunteered for a lie detector test and passed it. Not surprising, since he knows how lie detectors work, and that they are not considered evidence in court. The problem I have with this story is that the authorities say that he recorded the assault, but did not mention that they had these recordings, or had seen them. We also have no idea when the “assault” took place. The woman came forth on or before November 26th, but was this a day or two after the assault, or months, or years? The doctor’s attorneys say that they aren’t concerned, because “cases are decided based on evidence—not baseless innuendo.” This tells me that they are either unaware of the recordings, or know that they don’t exist. Since disclosure is an important part in any trial, I’m leaning towards the latter.
