“They’ve lied for years, and now they’ll pay the price,” Trump says as he takes on media giants.

President-elect Donald Trump is doubling down on his promise to hold the media accountable. On Monday, he announced plans to sue J. Ann Selzer, Iowa’s so-called “top pollster,” and The Des Moines Register over what he called a “blatantly false” pre-election poll that claimed Trump would lose Iowa by three points.

“This isn’t just about me,” Trump told reporters. “This is about stopping the lies, the manipulation, and the outright corruption in our media. I have an obligation to do this—for the people.”

Selzer’s final Iowa poll predicted Kamala Harris leading Trump 47% to 44%, claiming older women were turning out en masse to vote for abortion rights. Headlines across the nation ran with the story, declaring Iowa was slipping from Trump’s grasp.

But when the dust settled on election night, Trump obliterated Harris in Iowa, winning by 13 points.

“They tried to push a narrative that I was losing, and it was all based on a bogus poll,” Trump said. “It’s pure election interference.”

Selzer, who has long been praised as a top pollster, claimed she was “shocked” by Trump’s accusations. “I’ve always operated with integrity,” she said in a PBS interview. But even Selzer had to admit her final poll didn’t reflect reality.

“Would I have liked my last poll to align with the results? Of course,” she wrote in her farewell column, announcing her retirement. “It’s ironic that my career ends this way.”

Trump’s supporters see it differently. “She was either incompetent or biased,” said Kelly Carson, a Trump voter from Cedar Rapids. “Either way, she deserves to be held accountable.”

This isn’t Trump’s first victory in his battle against the fake news machine. Just weeks ago, ABC News settled with Trump for a stunning $15 million after their anchor George Stephanopoulos falsely claimed Trump was found “liable for rape” instead of sexual abuse.

“They knew they couldn’t win, so they folded,” Trump said proudly. “That money is going to help build my presidential library, which will be the greatest in history.”

Critics claim Trump is attacking free speech, but his supporters see a hero standing up to years of media lies. “Finally, someone is making them pay for their bias,” said Mark Reynolds, a Republican strategist.

Trump isn’t stopping with Selzer. He revealed Monday that more lawsuits are in the works, including:

  • CBS’ 60 Minutes for allegedly editing Kamala Harris’ answers to make her look better.
  • Bob Woodward, for selling interview tapes he recorded with Trump without permission.
  • The Pulitzer Board, for awarding prizes to journalists who reported on the “Russia hoax.”

“They gave awards for fake news,” Trump said. “It’s a disgrace, and we’re going to fight it.”

Despite his tough talk, Trump insists this isn’t about revenge. “I’m not looking back. I’m focused on making America great again,” he told NBC’s Kristen Welker last week. But his actions show he’s not afraid to take on the media establishment that has tried to undermine him for years.

“He’s doing what no other politician has dared to do,” said Laura Jenkins, a conservative commentator. “He’s standing up to the bullies in the media and saying, ‘Enough is enough.’”

Trump’s legal crusade has energized his base, who see him as a champion of truth in an era of media manipulation. At a rally in Des Moines last week, thousands of supporters chanted “Lock them up!” when Trump mentioned his fight against fake news.

For Trump, the stakes couldn’t be higher. “The media has been lying about me, about my family, and about my supporters for years,” he said Monday. “Now they’ll finally face the consequences.”

As Trump prepares to take office, one thing is clear: the era of unchecked media power is over.

  1. This is hilarious that Trump would declare war on fake news when he is the main culprit in giving out fake news, lies, and misleading information. This should backfire on him in the worst way. Boy, Trump is a real piece of work. Gonna lie thru his entire 4 years unless someone offs him. Vance wouldn’t be any better, though.

  2. Open your eyes JRS. The fake news and supposed reporters have been exposed and Americans don’t care for it. You should be ashamed to defend the bull they’ve put out there for years. Also covering up for a president who clearly doesn’t have his faculties. Enjoy the next 4 years and eat the crow you deserve
