Actress Undergoes Emergency Kidney Transplant

Bijou Phillips is opening up after a frightening health battle that ended with life-saving surgery.

The 46-year-old actress, who was previously married to That ’70s Show star and convicted rapist Danny Masterson, revealed that she recently underwent a kidney transplant after spending five months waiting for a donor and undergoing dialysis.

The Havoc star shared the emotional update on Instagram, posting a photo of herself in hospital scrubs and thanking the people who stepped up during her medical crisis.

“I am beyond beyond grateful to everyone who rushed into help me, get checked to donate, you are all hero’s!” Phillips wrote.

She went on to explain that her brother, Aron Wilson, played a major role in the kidney exchange process.

“My wonderful brother donated in the kidney exchange! He saved a life, and the life he saved had a special person donate for them,” she shared.

Phillips said that a few weeks later, the voucher program helped find her a “perfect match.”

“So close it’s like I got the kidney from one of my parents!” she wrote, praising Dr. Veale and the medical team behind the procedure.

The actress said she was blown away by the kidney exchange program, the voucher system and her surgeon’s skill, explaining that the operation was far less painful than she expected.

“He only cut the facia! He didn’t cut the muscles so I didn’t even really need much pain medication at all, just Tylenol!” she wrote.

Phillips added that just five days after surgery, she already felt the way she had four months after a previous operation.

“The technique he developed is brilliant and he is a lifesaver!” she said.

The health scare comes after several turbulent years for Phillips, whose marriage to Masterson ended following his high-profile criminal case. Phillips and Masterson tied the knot in 2011 after meeting at a celebrity poker tournament two years earlier. They welcomed their daughter, Fianna, in 2014.

Phillips has since moved on romantically and has been dating businessman Jamie Mazur since 2024. Mazur was previously engaged to Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio for 10 years. The former couple share two children and split in 2018.

Now, Phillips appears focused on healing, gratitude and a second chance at health after the life-saving transplant she had been desperately waiting for.
