Donny Osmond is facing a lawsuit from a fan who claims she suffered a serious eye injury after being struck by a prop during one of his Las Vegas residency performances.

According to a civil complaint filed Feb. 10 in Clark County District Court, Joanne Julkowski of Illinois alleges she was hit in the back of the head by a “lighted ball” tossed into the audience during Osmond’s 2024 show at Harrah’s Showroom.

In the lawsuit, Julkowski claims the illuminated balls are routinely launched into the crowd as part of the show’s interactive elements. She alleges that during the segment in question, the showroom was intentionally darkened, limiting visibility and making it difficult for audience members to track or avoid the props.

Julkowski says the impact led to a retinal injury in her right eye that later progressed into retinal detachment — a serious condition that can result in permanent vision loss if left untreated. According to the filing, she ultimately required surgery to repair the damage and describes her injuries as “life-altering.”

The complaint accuses Osmond, his production company and the venue of failing to take adequate precautions to protect concertgoers from foreseeable harm. She is seeking damages in excess of $15,000 for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages and loss of earning capacity, along with punitive damages.

Osmond, 68, launched his solo residency in Las Vegas in 2021. The show highlights milestones from his decades-long career and features a virtual duet with an A.I. version of his 14-year-old self. He also performs a Broadway-style rendition of “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan.

Osmond has not publicly commented on the lawsuit.

The case comes as celebrity residencies continue to draw large crowds to Las Vegas venues, where interactive elements — from tossed memorabilia to kicked balls — have occasionally sparked controversy in the past.
