A mysterious hotel break-in. HIV meds left behind. A cryptic love note. A rising music star claims his dream gig with Will Smith spiraled into a nightmare of sexual harassment, manipulation — and cover-up.
Will Smith is at the center of a jaw-dropping new scandal — and this time, it’s not a slap. It’s a shocking lawsuit involving a male America’s Got Talent star, a bizarre hotel encounter, and disturbing claims of grooming and retaliation.
Brian King Joseph, a 32-year-old violin prodigy who wowed audiences on AGT, is suing the Oscar winner for sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and emotional abuse — and the allegations read like something out of a thriller.
According to the lawsuit filed December 30 in Los Angeles, Joseph says Smith hand-picked him to perform on his 2025 Based on a True Story tour after a personal visit to the star’s home. But what started as a career-making opportunity allegedly devolved into something far more disturbing.
While on tour in Las Vegas in March, Joseph says he returned to his hotel room late at night to find it had been secretly entered. What he found inside left him terrified.
The lawsuit claims an anonymous intruder left a handwritten note that read, “Brian, I’ll be back no later 5:30 — just us ❤️ – Stone F.” Even more chilling was what else was left behind: a used beer bottle, personal wipes, a red backpack, a single earring, a bottle of HIV medication with someone else’s name on it, and hospital discharge papers for a total stranger.
Fearing he was being lured into a sexual trap, Joseph reported the incident to hotel security, local police, and Smith’s tour team. But instead of being protected, he claims he was punished — abruptly fired and replaced on the tour.
Joseph’s lawsuit alleges Smith was “deliberately grooming and priming” him for sexual exploitation, manipulating their close professional relationship and using personal interactions to blur boundaries. At one point, Smith allegedly told him, “You and I have such a special connection that I don’t share with anyone else.”
The firing, Joseph claims, caused severe PTSD, emotional breakdowns, loss of income, and public humiliation — all of which he says was triggered by a system designed to silence him.
Smith’s attorney Allen Grodsky didn’t hold back, calling the entire lawsuit “false, baseless, and reckless.”
“They are categorically denied,” he said, “and we will use all legal means available to ensure that the truth is brought to light.”
The lawsuit comes just weeks after another man, former associate Bilaal Salaam, sued Jada Pinkett Smith for $3 million, claiming she threatened him and caused emotional distress. Sources close to the couple insist these suits are “money grabs” from “opportunistic” accusers — but the back-to-back bombshells are igniting serious buzz in Hollywood.
Joseph, who gained nationwide fame in 2018 with his electric violin performances on America’s Got Talent, now says his biggest break turned into his darkest chapter — and he’s taking his fight for justice public.
Smith’s Based on a True Story tour spanned summer 2025, but now, the real story might be what was happening offstage.
