It wouldn’t be a Trump Christmas without a little drama under the tree.

President Donald Trump revealed that he begged wife Melania for a “Christmas favor” after her famous (and much-mocked) White House decorations became tabloid targets — saying the “fake news” criticism “hit her hard.”

Speaking during a holiday event, Trump praised his wife’s design skills but joked that every color choice turned into a headline. “The first year she did white trees — beautiful! They hit her hard. Next year, red — they hit her again,” he told the crowd. “So I said, ‘Baby, do me a favor. Just make the trees green. Let ’em be green!’”

Melania, looking stunning but stoic beside him, eventually took the mic herself — switching gears to wish guests joy and point out that Santa was waiting in the Green Room for photo ops. “You could take pictures and maybe whisper what you would like as a present for Christmas,” she smiled.

But the former First Lady’s holiday history is complicated. A leaked 2018 audio rant revealed Melania venting about her decorating duties, saying, “Who gives a f— about Christmas stuff and decoration?” The clip resurfaced in 2020 — and every December since.

Still, despite her ups and downs with the season, this year’s First Lady-led festivities appear to have gone off without a hitch (and with green trees firmly in place).

Whether she’s decking the halls or dodging critics, one thing’s clear — Melania’s Christmas spirit remains a headline all on its own.

  1. Why the hell would anyone care.  The two of them are destroying our history with their destruction of the White House.
