Candace Owens is taking her feud with the French First Couple to a whole new level — now claiming the French government is literally plotting to kill her.
The conservative firebrand, 36, went off on X (formerly Twitter) over the weekend, alleging that a “high-ranking employee” from inside France’s government privately warned her that President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, were behind an assassination plot.
Owens wrote that she considered the tip “credible enough to share publicly in case something happens.” She didn’t name the official or provide any proof, but said the person had “concrete evidence” that she’s being targeted.
Her shocking accusation comes right after the Macrons filed a defamation lawsuit in Delaware over Owens’ viral claim that Brigitte was “born male” — a rumor the French first lady has “vehemently denied.” Owens had pushed the theory in a YouTube series called Becoming Brigitte, and French journalist Xavier Poussard, who spread similar claims, was also mentioned as a “target.”
But Candace didn’t stop there. She went on to accuse the U.S. government of knowing about the supposed plot and doing nothing. “I do not know who in the American government can be trusted,” she wrote, adding that she had “verifiable” information if officials would “care to reach out.”
In a bizarre twist, Owens even tied the French military to the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk — claiming, without evidence, that his accused killer trained with the French Foreign Legion. Police have said the suspect acted alone out of hatred.
“To the brave official in France who risked their life to warn me,” Owens posted, “may God bless you. Truly.”
She ended her rant with a dark message: “We have lost this country. Americans are being assassinated on American soil, and agencies within our government are aware. Exactly one year before they murdered Charlie, they tried to murder me.”
The Macrons have not publicly responded to Owens’ latest claims.
