Looks like Hoda Kotb’s big “new chapter” isn’t turning the page she hoped for.
The former TODAY favorite is reportedly scrambling after her self-help project, the Joy 101 app, fizzled out just months after its launch. Sources say downloads have stalled, retreats are barely selling, and Hoda’s fans just aren’t buying the guru act.
“She thought this would be her next big thing,” spilled one insider. “But the app never took off — and she’s realizing people loved her as the friendly face of TODAY, not as a motivational coach.”
A ‘Joyless’ Launch
The veteran broadcaster introduced Joy 101 in May, calling it her “next chapter.” But insiders tell us reviews have been lukewarm, engagement is low, and the star is already regretting her leap into the competitive wellness world.
“Without NBC’s powerhouse behind her, Hoda’s struggling,” said another source. “She had producers, stylists, writers — an entire team helping her shine. Now it’s just her, and she’s learning how tough that really is.”
Trouble in TV Paradise
Adding to the drama? Hoda reportedly wants back on TODAY — but there’s one major roadblock: her longtime rival, Savannah Guthrie.
“Savannah’s the queen bee now,” an NBC insider claimed. “Hoda’s guest spots haven’t really sparked ratings, and the network isn’t sure the magic’s still there.”
At 61, Kotb’s finding out just how fast the TV world moves on. “Once you leave,” the insider said, “you’re quickly forgotten.”
Still, those close to her say Hoda hasn’t given up hope of reclaiming her seat on morning TV — if NBC will have her back.
