In what some law enforcement insiders are calling a “major national security concern,” a suspicious elevated hunting stand was discovered just yards away from where President Donald J. Trump routinely exits Air Force One at Palm Beach International Airport.
The FBI and Secret Service are now investigating whether the structure was part of a larger coordinated threat against the sitting president.
According to Secret Service communications director Anthony Guglielmi, agents uncovered the structure on Thursday during a routine pre-arrival security sweep ahead of President Trump’s return to Florida.
“The stand was positioned within a visible sightline of the president’s exit path from the aircraft,” Guglielmi said in a statement. “No individuals were found in the vicinity, and no movements were impacted.”
Photos released by the Secret Service show the makeshift platform nestled among dense brush, camouflaged in a way that suggested pre-meditation.
While law enforcement officials have not confirmed whether the hunting stand was weaponized, FBI Director Kash Patel said in a press release that investigators are analyzing the site for forensic evidence, digital activity, and potential ballistic relevance.
“This is not something we can treat lightly—especially in light of recent events targeting President Trump,” Patel said. “Our teams are using advanced cell phone triangulation and drone forensics to determine when the stand was constructed, who accessed it, and for what purpose.”
This development comes on the heels of multiple attempts on President Trump’s life in recent months—raising serious questions about potential security lapses and growing threats from radicalized actors.
Just weeks ago, Ryan Routh, a 59-year-old Florida man, was convicted in federal court of attempting to assassinate President Trump from a sniper’s nest hidden along a golf course fence line. Routh reportedly aimed a high-powered rifle at Trump during a game at Mar-a-Lago. In a stunning moment following the guilty verdict, Routh tried to stab himself in the neck with a pen in open court.
“The level of rage and obsession from these disturbed individuals is unlike anything we’ve seen,” a federal law enforcement source told us. “It’s only escalating.”
In July, Trump also survived a gunshot wound to the ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. That shooter was later identified as a 22-year-old linked to far-left extremist online forums. The attack was captured on national television and sent shockwaves across the country.
Law enforcement officials told this outlet that the newly discovered hunting stand may have been in place for months—but questions remain: Who built it? Why wasn’t it found sooner? And could it have been used in coordination with earlier plots?
“It’s highly suspicious this structure sat undetected—just feet away from one of the most secure locations in Florida,” said former DHS advisor Mike Simmons. “If not for the last-minute sweep, this could’ve been catastrophic.”
As investigators continue to analyze the site, the White House has not commented on the threat. However, sources close to the Trump campaign say the President has no intention of scaling back travel or appearances, and sees these threats as proof that he’s “making the right enemies.”
“President Trump is undeterred,” said a senior campaign official who asked to remain anonymous. “He knows the American people have his back, and he’s more motivated than ever to drain the swamp and finish what he started.”
Among conservative communities, the incident has already sparked outrage—and renewed demands for accountability.
“If this were Biden, the media would be calling it domestic terrorism,” said Lara Browning, a Florida-based Trump supporter. “But because it’s Trump, they’ll just ignore it. We see what’s going on.”
Republican lawmakers have yet to comment formally, but at least one senior Senate aide said a congressional inquiry into recent Secret Service intelligence lapses may be underway.
The FBI has flown in special tactical teams and surveillance analysts to assist in the probe. According to a source familiar with the investigation, motion-triggered trail cameras and hidden surveillance tools are being deployed throughout the area surrounding the airport.
Meanwhile, a federal security review is expected to follow, with renewed scrutiny over how local jurisdictions work with federal agents on presidential visits.
