Just days after the shocking assassination of conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk, a chilling new controversy is erupting online—and it’s targeting other big-name figures.

The social media platform Bluesky, popular among left-leaning users since Elon Musk’s takeover of X, is under fire after users posted vile messages celebrating Kirk’s death—and even called for more bloodshed.

One user wrote, “Rest in piss,” while another shockingly added, “Can we get JK Rowling next?” The same post justified the idea as “for the greater good of trans people,” referencing the Harry Potter author’s controversial stance on transgender issues.

Others dragged conservative voices like Ben Shapiro, Benny Johnson, and Andy Ngo into the fray, with their names popping up in disturbing discussions encouraging violence.

Charlie Kirk, 31, was gunned down on stage at Utah Valley University during a Turning Point USA event on September 10. A single bullet to the neck ended the young activist’s life just 20 minutes into his speech. His name was later seen crossed out in disturbing posts on Bluesky.

Following the online outcry, Bluesky issued a statement via its Safety team to its 38 million users.

“Glorifying violence or harm violates Bluesky’s Community Guidelines,” the platform said. “We review reports and take action on content that celebrates harm against anyone. Violence has no place in healthy public discourse.”

But for many, the damage is done. The posts remain a haunting reminder of how fast toxic speech can spiral into something deadly.

Two days after the shooting, Utah native Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested—turned in by his own father. On September 15, FBI Director Kash Patel dropped another bombshell: Robinson allegedly left a written note before the attack, outlining his plans to murder Kirk.

“The note said: ‘I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it,’” Patel revealed.

Although the note was reportedly destroyed, Patel said FBI investigators recovered forensic evidence and confirmed its message through aggressive questioning of those close to the suspect.

President Trump reacted to the assassination in a Truth Social post, calling Kirk a “great” and “legendary” figure.

“No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” Trump wrote. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me.”

He also extended sympathies to Kirk’s wife Erika and family, ending with a personal note: “Charlie, we love you!”
