Harrison Ford made headlines at the 2025 Emmy Awards after leaving the ceremony early on Sunday night in Los Angeles.
The 83-year-old actor had been nominated for the first time in his career, earning a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Shrinking. But when Jeff Hiller from Somebody Somewhere took home the trophy in a surprise upset, Ford reportedly left the theater “as soon as he lost,” according to Showbiz411. His empty seats were quickly filled by seat fillers.
While stars are expected to remain until the end of the show, fans on X didn’t miss Ford’s swift exit. One user called it “sour grapes,” while another joked, “Han Solo should have hung around.” Ford attended the ceremony with his wife, actress Calista Flockhart.
Before the show, Ford told Variety he doesn’t view creativity as a competition and said he was simply grateful for the recognition. “Regardless of whether it’s deemed worthy of mention or not, I’m going to continue acting,” he said.
This year’s nomination marked a milestone in Ford’s legendary career, but the star made it clear he has no plans to retire. “That’s one of the things I thought was attractive about the job of an actor,” he explained. “They need old people, too, to play old people’s parts.”
Throughout his decades-long career, Ford has worked with Hollywood giants like Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Francis Ford Coppola. He became an icon thanks to Star Wars and Indiana Jones, though he admitted he never expected to land sequel deals or become such a household name.
Reflecting on his journey, Ford said: “I never wanted to be anything more than somebody that made a living as an actor. I never expected to be anything more than a character actor.”

Just because Harrison left early, it doesn’t mean he was showing “sour grapes.” The man is 83 years old! Perhaps he was tired and wanted to go home to bed. These shows can run 3 to 4 hours long. The reporter is obviously someone young in age to say this. Wait until YOU get to be his age. Then you’ll know what it feels like to be tired and needing to sleep.
He stood around longer than most people who watched or didn’t watch at all. Award shows are ridiculous
Oh, Pls don’t Slam The GOAT! Maybe he wasn’t feeling well, or he was just tired. Many reasons why he would leave early. He’s 83, I’m 61 and don’t even like being out after dark, lol
Poor looser!
I’m surprised he even went! Harrison has nothing left to prove. Besides, he really doesn’t play Hollywood’s socialist political game.
