The shocking assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk has cast a spotlight on his widow, Erika Kirk — and now a surprising piece of her past is resurfacing.
Long before she married one of the most polarizing figures in conservative politics, Erika Lane Frantzve Kirk had a brush with reality TV fame.
In 2019, Bravo viewers briefly met Erika on season three of Summer House. The then-36-year-old was set up by cast member Carl Radke with his housemate, Jordan Verroi. Radke described Erika on camera as “beautiful and religious.” Verroi, who was open about his Christian faith, seemed to hit it off with her immediately.
At the end of the date, Erika called Jordan a “bright light in a very dark place.”
What fans didn’t know at the time was that Bravo wanted her for more. On the very day her episode aired, May 13, 2019, Erika revealed on Instagram that she turned down a full-time role on the show. Her reason: she had been accepted into Liberty University, where she pursued a Juris Master degree.
“I knew I was called to a higher purpose,” Erika wrote at the time.
Not long after her brief Bravo cameo, Erika crossed paths with Charlie Kirk in 2018. The two quickly became inseparable. They married in 2021, and together had two children, now ages 3 and 1.
Friends described Erika as someone who blended glamour with deep religious conviction. “She always had a strong faith, even when she was on reality TV,” one acquaintance told People. “That’s what drew her and Charlie together.”
On Friday night, Erika stepped into the public eye in a way she never could have imagined — addressing mourners just days after her husband was gunned down onstage during a speaking event at Utah Valley University.
“They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and of God’s merciful love,” she said through tears. “If you thought my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you’ve unleashed across this country and this world.”
Her words echoed across conservative social media, where supporters began calling her the “new face of the movement.”
Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot and killed Wednesday while speaking at a Turning Point USA event. Authorities have charged 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who they say acted alone. Investigators have not publicly discussed a motive.
On Saturday morning, Erika posted photos and video from her husband’s wake. “He gave his life to God and to America,” she wrote in one caption. “Now it’s my turn to carry the torch.”
For many, the revelation of Erika’s past TV appearance is a reminder of how quickly life can change. Just a few years ago, she was being scouted by reality producers. Today, she is a grieving widow — and potentially stepping into a national spotlight of her own.
