Mingus Reedus, 24, the son of The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus and supermodel Helena Christensen, is making headlines again — this time for a violent confrontation that led to his arrest.

According to the New York Post, police rushed to a Manhattan residence early Saturday morning after receiving a disturbing call about a woman “threatening suicide.”

But when officers arrived, the situation quickly escalated. The woman at the scene alleged that Mingus had punched her in the leg, choked her, and slammed her to the ground during a heated altercation.

Law enforcement sources confirmed that Mingus was taken into custody and booked on third-degree assault charges. The woman was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where she was treated and stabilized. Later, speaking with reporters, she called the incident “a misunderstanding,” though authorities are continuing to investigate.

This isn’t Mingus’ first brush with trouble. In 2022, the model and musician reportedly accepted a plea deal after allegedly punching a woman in the face during New York City’s famed San Gennaro Festival the year before. The incident stirred significant backlash at the time and hinted at a volatile side behind his high-profile upbringing.

With famous parents, a thriving modeling career, and an emerging music path, Mingus has long lived in the public eye — but this latest arrest is reigniting questions about the pressures of celebrity, privilege, and accountability.

While his representatives have yet to comment, insiders suggest that the family is “deeply concerned” about his repeated run-ins with the law.
