Alec Baldwin’s Hollywood downfall has reached a stunning low, as the once-celebrated actor struggles to salvage his finances and reputation after the fatal Rust shooting.
Once commanding $300,000 an episode on the hit sitcom 30 Rock, Baldwin has now been reduced to signing autographs for cash at fan conventions, rubbing shoulders with former child stars and industry has-beens. “It must be humiliating for him,” an insider told RadarOnline. “He considered himself Hollywood royalty, and now he’s selling himself like a novelty item.”
The Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning actor is now booking Comic Con appearances in cities like Rhode Island, Salt Lake City, and San Diego, reportedly scrambling to bring in quick money. Earlier this year, he even agreed to host the reopening of a Planet Hollywood in Times Square — a move that underscored his increasingly desperate situation.
Baldwin’s financial woes spiraled after the 2021 on-set tragedy that claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Though he beat involuntary manslaughter charges due to a prosecutorial misstep, the damage to his reputation was immense. Legal battles have reportedly cost him millions, with his attorney allegedly charging over $2,000 per hour.
On top of that, Baldwin was said to be “months late” paying the multimillion-dollar wrongful death settlement to Hutchins’ family. He even agreed to star in a reality show, The Baldwins, alongside his wife Hilaria and their seven children, chasing a reported $300,000-per-episode payout. Critics slammed the project as a shameless cash grab, and poor ratings led to a swift cancellation.
Meanwhile, Rust, the movie at the center of it all, grossed under $27,000 at the box office — a devastating blow to Baldwin’s once-prized project. Efforts to offload the couple’s Hamptons estate also failed, even after slashing the price from $29 million to $11 million.
“They’re in a dark place,” a source admitted. “Nothing seems to be breaking their way after the trial and the reality show disaster. He’s gone from Oscar parties to Comic Con booths, selling what’s left of his name.”

Could not happen to a worst guy! The guy is not broke, I’m willing to bet
No, he’s hiding his cash so the family of that woman he killed won’t get it…He might as well join “The View” since all of those “ladies” can’t get regular jobs…He was good way, way, way back then but let the “celebrity” go to his big empty head…
Karma is a B——!!
AMEN!
