Tensions are boiling over in the Osbourne household following the death of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne—and the feud isn’t just about grief. Jack and Kelly Osbourne are publicly distancing themselves from their older sister Aimee, and it’s reopening old wounds just as the family faces the difficult task of saying goodbye to their father.

Jack, 39, didn’t hold back on the Disrespectfully podcast when asked about his relationship with Aimee, 41. “We’re not close at all,” he said. “It’s no secret.”

The rift runs deep and traces back to the early 2000s, when the Osbourne family catapulted into reality TV fame with their hit MTV show The Osbournes. Aimee famously opted out, refusing to appear on the show that made her parents and siblings household names. According to Jack, her decision created a long-standing distance that never healed.

“She really wanted to be a serious musician—like Fiona Apple or Mazzy Star,” Jack said. “She saw MTV reality as low-hanging fruit. She didn’t want to be seen riding anyone’s coattails.”

Even after the show’s success, Aimee stood her ground. “She dug her heels in. She wanted to stay private and obscure,” Jack explained. “We don’t have a great relationship. She’ll be the first to tell you that.”

Aimee, who releases music under the name ARO, has remained mostly silent about her strained relationship with her siblings—but she’s made it clear she has no regrets about staying out of the spotlight. “We don’t socialize,” she said in a 2015 interview. “There is an acceptance, but not an ease.”

Kelly echoed similar feelings during a 2021 interview on Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard. “We don’t talk,” she said. “She doesn’t understand me, and I don’t understand her.”

Now, with Ozzy’s passing at the age of 76, the family is being forced to come together publicly—just as long-buried tensions resurface behind the scenes. The Osbournes reunited for a public memorial in Birmingham, followed by a private family gathering at their Buckinghamshire home. But sources say the grief has only added pressure to a family already on edge.

“Ozzy’s death has thrown a spotlight on the divisions that have quietly existed for years,” a source close to the family revealed. “Jack and Kelly basically can’t stand Aimee. They believe they built the Osbourne brand with their parents and don’t think she deserves an equal share.”

According to insiders, the dispute over Ozzy’s vast estate could turn into a full-blown legal war. With decades of royalties still pouring in, sprawling properties in both the US and UK, and six children involved, the stakes are high.

“Unless Ozzy left a very clear will or trust, there’s going to be conflict,” said legal analyst Adam Jones. “Sharon will likely receive half, but all the children—biological and step—could have a claim.”

Sharon has previously expressed regret over letting Aimee move out at 16 to escape the cameras. “She hated the idea of growing up on camera,” she said during an episode of The Talk in 2016. “It broke my heart when she left.”

Now, that heartbreak may be spreading across the entire family. With emotions raw and legal battles looming, the Osbournes’ final chapter may be far more turbulent than anyone expected.

  1. Quote (from article): “Jack and Kelly basically can’t stand Aimee. They believe they built the Osbourne brand with their parents and don’t think she deserves an equal share.”
    ========

    Let’s be quite clear. Ozzy made a name for himself and, whether directly or indirectly, for the members of his family. *He* did that. He was already a household name before the show on MTV. For whatever reason(s) Aimee chose to opt out of the show, I respect that, and don’t see her any less than Jack and Kelly or the children he had with his first wife. They are ALL his children and, as such, are ALL deserving of whatever has been left to them (outside of whatever is given to Sharon). It is because of HIS hard work and perseverance and dedication and talent that they are able to enjoy the “fruits of his labor”. In the end, it doesn’t – or shouldn’t – matter if they are getting along or understand one another or whatever else comes up for reasons why they don’t talk to each other … from my understanding (and haven’t seen/read/heard anything to the contrary) – they ALL loved their dad. And that is what matters, at least in regards to any kind of inheritance or whatever. While Jack and Kelly were on the show and gain notoriety due to that, Ozzy already “built the Osbourne brand” way before that started. He didn’t “need” their help. What the show did, in retrospect, was give a unique view into his private side, and to see the man that we didn’t know existed, and to appreciate and respect that aspect of him (and his family). Maybe they all need to be reminded of that …. that, without their dad and what he did to provide for them is the reason why they are so publicly well known today. It wasn’t *them*. It was *him*.

    1. GAH … wish they had an edit option on here…

      CORRECTION: ” … that, without their dad and what he did to provide for them is the reason why they are so publicly well known today.”

      *should have been*

      that their dad and what he did to provide for them is the reason why they are so publicly well known today.
