Kate Middleton’s Right-Hand Woman Unfollows Meghan Markle

Natasha Archer, Kate Middleton’s longtime personal assistant and unofficial stylist, is stepping into the spotlight—and leaving Meghan Markle behind on Instagram.

After 15 years of working inside Kensington Palace, Archer has gone public in more ways than one. Just days after PEOPLE revealed she’s leaving her royal role to launch a luxury consultancy, eagle-eyed royal watchers noticed that Archer quietly unfollowed Meghan Markle and her lifestyle brand As Ever on Instagram.

The move raised eyebrows, especially since Archer previously followed Meghan, several of her closest friends like makeup artist Daniel Martin and yogi Heather Dorak, as well as style blogs devoted to both duchesses. As of July 17, all of those accounts are gone from her follow list.

However, not everything Sussex-related has vanished. Archer is still following two of Meghan’s former Suits co-stars, Abigail Spencer and Sarah Rafferty.

She also continues to follow the official accounts for Prince William and Princess Kate, as well as King Charles and Queen Camilla. Other notable follows include Princess Eugenie and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Archer’s newly public Instagram bio reads “Luxury Consultancy” and links to a site marked “coming soon.” While she has no posts, over 6,500 people have already followed her.

Nicknamed “Tash” by insiders, Archer was hired in 2010 as a personal assistant to the royal couple and quickly became part of Kate’s inner circle. She’s credited with helping transform Kate’s style from casual to regal, dressing the future queen for royal tours, key public appearances, and even the iconic hospital photo ops following the births of her children.

In 2017, Archer married royal photographer Chris Jackson, and in 2019, she was awarded the Royal Victorian Order for her service to the monarchy. Most recently, she held the title of senior private executive assistant to the Prince and Princess of Wales, managing everything from wardrobe to schedules.

Her new path into the world of high-end consulting may be just beginning—but it looks like she’s already making a statement about who’s in (and out) of her inner circle.
