Prince William Warned Meghan is Using Harry as a Hollywood Launchpad

Prince William allegedly saw Meghan Markle’s game from the very beginning — and now, even Queen Elizabeth’s inner circle appears to agree.

According to royal biographer Phil Dampier, the future king never bought into Meghan’s fairy-tale intentions when she stepped into the royal spotlight. “She saw marrying Harry as a steppingstone — a calculated leap toward global fame and fortune,” Dampier told The Sun. “William was wary from the start. That’s what split the brothers.”

Now, Dampier says, that long-held suspicion has been “confirmed by someone extremely close to the Queen” — none other than Lady Elizabeth Anson, Her Majesty’s own cousin and lifelong confidante. Before her death, Anson reportedly voiced concerns about Meghan’s true motives behind closed palace doors.

From Palace Walls to Red Carpets

Since abandoning their royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan have pursued what critics call a “glamorous exile” in North America — complete with Netflix deals, Spotify flops, red carpet appearances, and splashy celebrity events. Most recently, the couple were spotted at Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter concert, continuing their run as Hollywood fixtures rather than humanitarian royals.

Dampier says William’s early concerns were “the root of the brothers’ rift,” which only worsened after Harry’s memoir Spare alleged William physically attacked him in a row over Meghan. “It was never going to work with Meghan in the royal family,” Dampier added. “She had her sights set far beyond palace gates.”

Family Fallout

Harry’s relationship with both his brother and King Charles has been strained for years. The damage only deepened after the Sussexes accused the royal family of racism in their Oprah interview and docuseries. Their public mudslinging campaign put palace staff on high alert and earned the couple sharp criticism — particularly from British veterans of the institution.

Despite Harry’s recent pleas for reconciliation, insiders say the trust is gone. “Some members of my family may never forgive me,” Harry admitted in a BBC interview this year. He even confessed he doesn’t know how long his cancer-stricken father has left — and yet Charles “won’t speak” to him.

A Cold Reception Ahead

As Charles battles cancer and William steps further into the spotlight as the monarchy’s stabilizing force, there’s little indication the royal family is ready to roll out the red carpet for Harry and Meghan again. “Too much damage has been done,” said one royal source. “They turned their backs on duty — and now want the perks without the responsibility.”

With even Queen Elizabeth’s trusted allies voicing skepticism, William’s early doubts about Meghan appear less like brotherly jealousy — and more like royal foresight.

The Sussexes and Kensington Palace have not commented on the claims.
