“We had just moved in, and everything felt magical,” said Dory, laughing. “But then our dogs kept staring at the chimney like it was possessed.”

No Regrets — Just a Lot of Soot
“People say we’re overreacting,” Will said. “But when a squirrel shoots out of a hole in your wall at 7 a.m., you tell me how you’d react.”
For now, the couple is focusing on home repairs, local friendships, and managing their unexpected internet fame. And yes — the squirrels were all released safely, no harm done.
“We’re just the latest humans in a long line of residents here,” Dory said. “But those squirrels? They were here first. And honestly, they kind of made this place feel alive.”
As for Will’s scream? “It was genuine,” he insists. “And let’s be real — it’s what made us famous.”
