In an era dominated by self-indulgent celebrities and broken Hollywood families, Demi Moore stands out — not for the scandals, but for the strength.

Now 62, the iconic American actress and one-time tabloid queen is opening up about what really matters to her: faith in family, the importance of resilience, and the unshakable bond she still shares with ex-husband Bruce Willis, even decades after their 1998 divorce.

“We’ve always been a family,” Moore told People in an interview for their World’s Most Beautiful issue. “That foundation — putting our children first — has never wavered.”

That foundation has only grown stronger as Bruce battles frontotemporal dementia. Moore, along with their daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, has remained by his side, putting family before fame.

Hollywood Icon, But Still a Fighter

Before the red carpets and headlines, Moore was a scrappy teen landing her first break on General Hospital at just 19. “It was my first real paycheck,” she recalls. “I didn’t come from acting school — I came from the university of ‘Fake It Till You Make It.’”

That humility stuck with her, even as her career skyrocketed in the ’80s and ’90s with box-office hits like Ghost and G.I. Jane. While the media often celebrated her beauty, Moore is the first to admit it wasn’t always easy growing up.

“I had amblyopia — a wandering eye. When I was five, it had crossed all the way in,” she revealed. “I had surgery to fix it, but I still had a pretty awkward phase. Bad haircuts, jean jackets with bows — it wasn’t pretty.”

A Different Kind of Hollywood Mother

What sets Moore apart isn’t just her success, but her willingness to break cycles. Raised by an alcoholic mother, Moore’s early years were far from stable. She made a promise to herself — and to her future children — to be different.

“For many years, I didn’t want my daughters to go through what I did,” she said. “But I swung too far the other way. I tried to hide every emotion. I didn’t want to burden them.”

Now, she believes strength means honesty. “It’s okay for kids to see sadness, to see that you walk through it and come out stronger,” Moore added. “That’s real growth.”

The Bruce and Demi Bond — Still Standing Strong

While most Hollywood divorces end in bitterness and silence, Moore and Willis wrote a different script.

Despite ending their marriage over 25 years ago, Moore calls their post-divorce relationship a “blessing.” The two remained close, even as Willis remarried. Their bond is now more vital than ever, as they navigate his dementia diagnosis together.

“It doesn’t matter what the label of the relationship is — we’ve stayed a family,” Moore said. “Our kids were always the priority. That never changed.”

A New Chapter: Grandma Demi

In April 2023, Moore stepped into a new role — grandmother, or “Yaya,” as her family calls her. She was in the room for the home birth of her daughter Rumer’s baby, Louetta.

“There was a moment where I wasn’t sure Rumer would make it,” Moore said. “She has a different pain threshold than me. But watching her step into her power — that was unforgettable.”

Living With Gratitude

Now entering what many might call her twilight years, Moore isn’t slowing down. She’s still acting — her latest role as a fitness guru in a psychological thriller titled The Substance tackles aging and the brutal reality of self-image in the public eye.

But more than that, she’s focused on gratitude.

“My family — two-legged and four-legged — my children, and all the incredible, loving people around me. That’s what I count as real beauty,” Moore shared.

For all the glitz and drama of Hollywood, Moore’s story is a rare one: a tale of endurance, faith in family, and staying rooted when the world expects you to drift.

For a woman who’s seen the spotlight from every angle — front-page scandals, red carpet glory, public heartbreak — she’s living proof that grace, grit, and loyalty never go out of style.
