Apple is facing backlash after reports surfaced that iPhones were automatically replacing the word “racist” with “Trump” when using voice-to-text features. The company admits the issue exists and claims it was caused by a software bug—yet many conservatives aren’t buying it.
“This isn’t just some random glitch,” said conservative commentator Mark Levin. “Big Tech has been working to silence Trump and his supporters for years. This is just the latest example.”
Apple hates MAGA and hates Trump.

Voice to text the word "racist" on your iPhone (regardless of app) and "Trump" appears first for a millisecond and then the actual word appears. I do wonder why 🤔 pic.twitter.com/9O2sSQqisJ
What Happened?
Users began noticing the strange autocorrect issue while dictating messages on their iPhones. When saying the word “racist,” the text input would briefly display “Trump” before correcting itself. While Apple insists this was unintentional, the glitch immediately raised concerns of political bias.
Apple, in a brief statement, said, “Our speech recognition models sometimes display phonetically similar words before analyzing context. We are aware of the issue and rolling out a fix.” However, some users remain skeptical, pointing to Apple’s history of controversial decisions that appear to favor liberal viewpoints.
A Pattern of Bias?
This is not the first time Apple has been accused of favoring left-wing narratives. Under CEO Tim Cook, the company has made high-profile decisions that critics say align with progressive politics. In 2020, Apple removed Parler—a conservative social media platform—from its App Store, citing concerns over “violent content.” However, similar content was found on Twitter and Facebook at the time, and those platforms remained untouched.
More recently, Apple’s map service briefly renamed the Gulf of Mexico, triggering further accusations of political meddling. And in 2022, the company pledged a $500 billion investment plan that some believed was a strategic move to align itself with the Biden administration.
Reactions from Trump Supporters
The news sparked outrage among Trump supporters, who took to social media to voice their frustration. “Apple needs to be held accountable,” tweeted former Trump advisor Steve Bannon. “This is more than just a bug—it’s an insult.”
Others, like conservative radio host Dan Bongino, called for Apple users to switch to alternative brands. “Time to ditch Apple,” he wrote. “They don’t respect half the country.”
Big Tech and the Political Divide
The incident comes at a time of heightened political tension. Trump’s return to the White House has led to renewed scrutiny of Big Tech, with many conservatives arguing that Silicon Valley companies continue to silence right-wing voices.
Only weeks ago, Meta (formerly Facebook) was accused of automatically signing users up to follow Trump’s new official White House page without their consent. The company later clarified that the follows were linked to the political office rather than the individual.
What Happens Next?
Apple has promised a software update to resolve the issue, but for many, the damage is already done. The controversy has reignited calls for greater oversight of Big Tech and its influence over public discourse. Some Republican lawmakers are pushing for further investigations into Apple and other tech giants to ensure political neutrality in their algorithms.
Whether this was an innocent mistake or something more deliberate, one thing is clear: America’s divide over Big Tech is only growing. And for millions of Trump supporters, Apple’s so-called “bug” is just another example of Silicon Valley’s long-standing war on conservatives.
