An 18-year-old American student, part of a group traveling across Europe on a school trip, now faces horrifying allegations following a deadly incident in Paris. According to French authorities, moments after giving birth at a budget hotel, the young mother is accused of throwing her newborn from the second-floor window of an Ibis Styles hotel in the city’s 20th arrondissement.

Local police report that the newborn, still attached to its umbilical cord, was discovered wrapped in a sheet on a nearby street—just a short walk from the historic Place de la Nation. Despite emergency responders rushing the infant to the hospital, the baby was pronounced dead on arrival due to severe injuries from the fall.

Investigators in Paris suspect that the student may have been suffering from “pregnancy denial,” a condition in which a woman is unaware of or refuses to accept her pregnancy. The unexpected nature of the birth reportedly left her unprepared, and she was subsequently taken to the same hospital for treatment following childbirth.

An investigation into the incident—now classified as the homicide of a minor under 15—is ongoing. Detectives arrested the young mother at a local clinic, and she now faces charges of child murder. The street outside the hotel was cordoned off for over five hours as authorities began piecing together the chain of events that led to this tragic loss.

  1. She knew what she did Months Ago ! She should Suffer the consequences of her Actions ! Shame on Her for Killing an Innocent Child ! There are Many who are Unable to Conceive and This young Girl tosses her Child Out of a Window Like Trash !

  2. This story has many unanswered questions
    1. She’s 15 why would her parents allow her to go on a trip unaccompanied
    2. Why would she go on an overseas trip so close to labor
    3. Who was in the room with her when she gave birth

Things that make you go hmmmm

    1. She was 18, part of a group of students on a planned trip so the dates were probably set well in advance. The article specifically said that she was in denial of even being pregnant so, getting on a plane or traveling would not have been an issue. I am by NO means justifying her actions, but she was probably scared out of her mind and panicked. She could have thought the baby was stillborn. We don’t know, since we weren’t in the room with her. That being said, it is still no excuse for throwing a baby out the window. I’m sure France has programs similar to America’s safe baby harbor drop offs and someone at the hotel could have helped her
