King Charles may hold the key to resolving the royal rift, but one expert argues that his inability to make firm decisions has been a major roadblock in mending the family divide—especially when it comes to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
According to royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner, Charles must regain control from Prince William, who has been making many of the decisions related to the family dynamics. Turner claims that Charles’ indecision is a central factor in Harry and Meghan’s prolonged distance from the UK and their lack of a warm welcome back.
“I think what’s necessary is Charles to rule over William, rather than the other way around,” Turner told Daily Express US. “He just can’t make decisions, and that’s been one of the biggest issues with Harry and Meghan.”
Pelham Turner, who covered Charles’ 2023 coronation, explained that many of those behind the scenes expressed optimism about Charles as a monarch, but privately admitted that his inability to make quick decisions was a significant concern. “The reality is, he can’t make a decision to save his life,” Turner said, reflecting on the coronation.
While Turner doesn’t condone everything Harry and Meghan have done, he acknowledges that their desire for a “half-in, half-out” royal life—where they could still perform royal duties while earning their own income—wasn’t entirely out of step with other European royal families. “Look at Sweden or Holland, most royal families are allowed to work,” Turner noted, emphasizing that such a lifestyle could have benefited Harry and Meghan while still serving the UK as international ambassadors.
Ultimately, Turner believes the opportunity for Harry and Meghan to play a positive role as ambassadors in the US is still on the table. However, for that to happen, he argues, King Charles needs to make decisive moves rather than allowing Prince William or palace advisors to drive the narrative.

Prince Harry is still your son and his children and wife should never have been treated so horrible,just because he wanted a different life for his family. You Charles made a decision to marry Camilla against many wishes and while married had an affair just to your liking and treated Diana as a an object to just give you children,so you Charles are not free of decisions that was for you only,if your family shunned you and your wife how would you both feel.
So do not go to your grave knowing you the father never made amends with you son and is family.
The issue here is, this is America ðºð¸, we donât care ð¤·ð¿, what this worthless group of people do or donât do.. They are useless, they live of sweat of others, produce nothing, create nothing, do nothing, to be honest they are welfare recipients, freeloaders.

Time for the King to act like one. Harry is his son and can’t just be tossed out because William says so. Harry has done some things he should not have BUT he is still Charle’s son. Let this mess all be settled once and for all before Charles dies. They should be reunited as a family and stop acting like spoiled brats

Harry and Meagan were the ones to walk away as working Royal Members…. They can’t walk in one year, walk out the next one…. You’re either in or out…. you can’t be going back and forth… I don’t blame William for his choices. Yes, he is still the king’s son, but I don’t think he’s 100% wanting back. He wants back on his terms, not William’s…. Harry wants to be a part of but NOT all the way back in. He’s of NO way wanting to help the Crown, just to help himself… He wants to be a part of the benefits, not working as such…
