The mystery surrounding recent drone sightings over New Jersey and other East Coast states has been resolved, according to the National Security Council (NSC). John Kirby, the NSC spokesperson, assured the public on Monday that the drones are not a threat.

Speaking on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, Kirby addressed growing concerns about the frequent sightings. “These drones represent lawful, legal, commercial, hobbyist, and even law enforcement activity,” he explained. “We don’t assess any national security or public safety risk from these aircraft.”

After extensive analysis and days of forensic investigations, the government concluded that the drones are part of routine operations. Kirby emphasized the ubiquity of drones in U.S. airspace. “There are millions of drones flying regularly over the United States,” he noted. “Many of them serve critical purposes, from aiding law enforcement to supporting commercial enterprises.”

Kirby also highlighted the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) expanded drone permissions, including nighttime flights, as a factor in the increased sightings. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas echoed this point during an interview on ABC’s This Week, stating that the new regulations might have heightened public awareness of drone activity.

Despite these assurances, Kirby acknowledged that investigations are ongoing. Of the 5,000 tips received by federal agencies, about 100 remain unresolved. “We’re still triangulating those,” Kirby said. “As more tips come in, that number could grow. But for now, there’s no indication of anything illegal or threatening.”

When asked if the government could rule out nefarious activity entirely, Kirby was cautious. “I can’t say we’ve ruled out every possibility,” he admitted. “But right now, we don’t see evidence pointing to criminal or malicious intent.”

Following Kirby’s remarks, a joint statement from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), FBI, FAA, and Department of Defense (DoD) reinforced the assessment. The statement attributed the sightings to a mix of legal drones, helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, and even celestial objects like stars.

“Having thoroughly examined the technical data and citizen reports, we find no anomalies,” the agencies stated. “The activity poses no threat to public safety or national security in civilian airspace.”

Officials acknowledged public unease over the high volume of sightings and pledged continued support for local authorities. “We are deploying advanced detection technologies to assist state and local agencies,” the statement read. “We also urge Congress to enact counter-drone legislation that expands our ability to identify and mitigate potential threats.”

Drone operator Alex Torres, a commercial pilot in New Jersey, supported the government’s findings. “Most of us follow strict FAA guidelines,” he said. “The new nighttime permissions are a game-changer, but they also mean more people notice drones overhead.”

Local resident Emily Carter shared her mixed feelings. “It’s reassuring to hear there’s no danger, but the sheer number of drones is unsettling,” she said. “I’m glad the government is taking this seriously.”

While the immediate concern has been allayed, officials stress the importance of staying vigilant. Kirby concluded his interview with a message for the public: “If you see something unusual, report it. We’ll continue to investigate every lead to ensure our skies remain safe.”

  4. OK, all is fine. We still don’t know what the drones are doing, where they are coming from, who they belong to. So, what do we know??? NOTHING, we know absolutely nothing more than we did a week ago or a month ago. These administrative idiot talking heads are incredibly stupid people.

So, the only solution that is remaining is to shoot them down. Shoot them down as soon as they are within range. No question, that will resolve the issue.

  5. Pathetic! The Biden administration is throwing anything out there to see what sticks before President Trump’s sworn in. Monkey Pox elicited a ho-hum, then they tried drones and alien invasion, again ho-hum, now they are going full-tilt-boogie with bird flu. Yawn!
