Los Angeles – Thanksgiving took an unexpected turn for Arnold Schwarzenegger when his Los Angeles home was swarmed by law enforcement after a bomb threat was reported.
The LAPD rushed to the actor and former governor’s mansion following a tip-off that a bomb had been placed in his mailbox. Authorities swiftly conducted a thorough search of the area, but fortunately, no explosive device was found.
A spokesperson for the LAPD confirmed the response, labeling the incident as a “swatting”—a hoax designed to send law enforcement into action under false pretenses. “After speaking with Schwarzenegger’s security team, it was clear that given the extensive surveillance and security at his residence, any threat would have been nearly impossible to carry out,” said the spokesperson.
Interestingly, Schwarzenegger was not at home during the scare. Sources say the actor was at his local gym, enjoying a workout before settling down for a holiday meal. Despite the disruption, Schwarzenegger’s camp expressed gratitude, with a close friend noting, “We’re thankful for the officers who responded quickly, even on a holiday.”
This unsettling incident comes on the heels of a troubling trend of threats against high-profile individuals across the country. Just days earlier, bomb threats were reported against several members of President-Elect Donald Trump’s cabinet, as well as Congressman Matt Gaetz, whose home was also targeted with a similar false alarm.
Despite the chaos, Schwarzenegger’s team appeared to take the situation in stride. “It’s been a strange week for a lot of people in the public eye,” they commented. “We’re just glad that the holiday ended on a peaceful note.”
