In what many are calling a step too far, Hollywood actor and comedian Will Ferrell has officially thrown his weight behind Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 campaign.

But this endorsement isn’t just friendly encouragement—Ferrell’s message, delivered in a recent campaign ad, is making headlines for a threatening tone aimed at potential voters. For conservatives, it’s just more proof that Hollywood elites are willing to go to extreme lengths to tell Americans how to think and vote.

The ad starts with Ferrell urging Americans to vote, calling the election “one of the closest in history.” But in classic Ferrell style, he doesn’t keep it serious for long. He singles out a fictional voter named “Gary” and, in a biting tone, mocks him for thinking one vote doesn’t make a difference.

Ferrell’s message? “Shut the f–k up, Gary.” He goes even further, warning that if the election doesn’t go his way, “we will hold you personally responsible, Gary.”

Watch the video below:

Conservatives are far from amused. Outrage quickly exploded on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), where users slammed Ferrell’s “joke” as yet another example of left-leaning celebrities attempting to bully Americans into voting their way.

One user shot back: “Democrats have now resorted to physically threatening people to vote for Kamala. Will Ferrell should’ve stuck to comedy. This isn’t funny at all.” Another noted, “Will Ferrell is making it REAL tough for me to watch Elf this season.”

But Ferrell isn’t the only Hollywood star lining up for Harris. Last Thursday, a slew of Marvel actors—Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Danai Gurira, Don Cheadle, and Paul Bettany—teamed up in a video ad calling on Americans to “assemble for democracy.”

Mocking their Avengers characters, they threw in lines about how every vote counts in “Election Endgame.” Bettany even suggested a cringey catchphrase for Harris: “I’m down with democracy.” Don Cheadle added his own twist, sarcastically saying, “I’m Kamala Harris, and I am down with democracy.”

This latest push from Hollywood elites doesn’t come as a surprise to many conservatives, who see these efforts as another tone-deaf attempt to pressure average Americans to fall in line. However, the timing of these endorsements highlights the real worry in Harris’s camp. With recent polling showing razor-thin margins in key battleground states, it’s clear the Democrats know they’re fighting an uphill battle.

According to the final New York Times/Siena College Battleground poll, Trump holds the lead in Arizona, while Harris leads narrowly in Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, and Wisconsin. In Michigan and Pennsylvania, it’s a dead heat between the two candidates, underscoring just how crucial every single vote will be.

Even the addition of music icon Beyoncé at a recent Harris rally in Houston hasn’t quelled the growing anxiety within the Democratic Party. While Harris is doubling down on star power, many voters question whether celebrity endorsements from Hollywood elites will sway hearts and minds. For those in the heartland, it may well feel like yet another condescending attempt to impose left-leaning values on America.

As we approach Election Day, the stakes are high, but so is the resistance to Hollywood’s influence. For Republicans, Ferrell’s “threat” is the last straw—a reminder of just how out of touch the entertainment industry is with real Americans and their concerns.

  1. Will Farrell is a local idiot and nusiating comedian.  Nothing funny about him.  Sent from my iPad

  2. If you are familiar with his humor you will know that this is typical Will Ferrel’s tongue in cheek humor. Conservatives have no sense of humor.

    1. Neither do liberals but of course it is a double standard. We heard for 2 straight days all over mainstream about the comedian’s Puerto Rico joke. Bet we won’t see this on mainstream at all. Hypocrites

  3. I can’t even stomach Will Farrell in anything he does on the screen. Worst actor of all time. Now this even proves his useless existence on the planet.

  4. And if it were just the opposite, like someone told people to vote for Trump in that manner, all the cry babies would be up in arms.

  5. Seriously who gives a f what these Hollywood assholes think. Will I’m Gary and I am voting for Trump come after me you fn coward

  6. Will Ferrel can “kiss my ass”! Will doesn’t know his his ass from a hole in the ground and hasn’t the brains God gave a “piss ant!”

  7. Will Ferrell has a right to speak his mind. However, I have to wonder how he reacts to someone
with different ideas. There’s the test!! It sounds like Stalin had his number.
