Savannah Guthrie is pulling out all the stops to bring her mother home.

The Today show anchor, 54, has announced a staggering $1 million reward for information that leads to the recovery of her missing mom, Nancy Guthrie — but behind the scenes, the decision wasn’t as simple as it looked.

Nancy, 84, vanished on January 31. More than three weeks later, the case has only grown more chilling.

According to multiple reports, Savannah actually wanted to put up the reward immediately.

Sources close to the family say she pushed to offer the seven-figure sum on “the first day of the investigation.” But law enforcement allegedly advised her to wait.

Fox News reporter Michael Ruiz shared that investigators feared an early reward might overwhelm the system already flooded with tips. Authorities were reportedly receiving tens of thousands of leads organically, and officials wanted proper infrastructure in place before adding a major financial incentive to the mix.

Now, after coordinating closely with investigators, Savannah has officially made the offer public.

On February 24, Savannah took to Instagram with a heartbreaking message.

Fighting back tears, she admitted her family is bracing for the worst.

“She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother Pierce and with our daddy,” she said. “And if this is what is to be, then we will accept it.”

Still, she made one thing crystal clear: they need answers.

“I will give up to $1 million for any information that leads us to her recovery,” she said, urging anyone with knowledge to call the tip line — even anonymously.

“Someone out there knows something,” she pleaded. “Somebody knows. And we are begging you to please come forward now.”

Nancy was last seen the evening of January 31 after having dinner with her daughter Annie and son-in-law Tommaso at their Arizona home.

Tommaso reportedly told police he dropped her off at her house in Catalina Foothills around 9:48 p.m.

The next day, Nancy failed to show up for a planned online church gathering with a friend — something completely out of character. Alarm bells went off.

When family members checked her home, they found her cell phone, car keys and wallet still inside. There were also troubling blood spatters on the door. But there was no sign of Nancy.

Authorities quickly began investigating the case as a possible crime. Many believe she may have been abducted from her home after going to sleep that night.

Days into the search, investigators released eerie footage captured by Nancy’s Nest camera.

The images show a man believed to be between 5’9” and 5’10”, wearing a ski mask, thick black gloves, a backpack and what appeared to be a holster with a weapon.

It was a chilling development — but not a breakthrough.

Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that DNA was recovered at the scene. However, it was “mixed,” meaning it contained samples from more than one person. Experts say it could take up to a year to fully analyze.

As of now, no suspect has been identified.

Savannah’s life plays out on national television each morning, but behind the scenes, she and her family are living a nightmare.

The $1 million reward is one of the largest ever publicly offered in a missing persons case involving a high-profile family member.

Whether it sparks the one tip that changes everything remains to be seen.

For now, the question haunting everyone remains the same: What happened to Nancy?
